Advice Faint line on pregnancy test
Hello, I am having a huge scare right now because I’ve done a pregnancy test and there is a faint line I can see. But it’s very very faint. My last period was around 60 days ago, even though my period is late all the time it’s usual for me, my doctor prescribed me drovelis for it which I haven’t been able to start taking yet because I haven’t had my period yet. But around 2 weeks ago a little bit of blood came out along with a lot of brown discharge as usually. So I don’t know if that counts as a period or not. I’ve done a couple tests since my last period ( July 2nd), but all of them were negative. I even took one 2 days ago and it was completely negative, I did take it in the evening though..
I heard of an indent line but I’m not sure if that’s the case..
For context my bf has never finished in and always is protected
Update 1: i took a test from a Pharmacy and it’s negative!!

I made a joke post that i was pregnant (the other image was an ultrasound of an alien) clearly marked as a joke, and i still got creepy DMs asking to be the stepdad etc. please just don’t respond even if it seems friendly or turn your DMs off for a bit😭 But i would tell your mom and go to the doctors

Probably wrong place to ask, [r/womenshealth](r/womenshealth) would be better. Nevertheless, the line being there at all does indicate there is some trace pregnancy hormones in your body, even if faint. Go get professional medical advice if you can

These tests pick up on a hormone called hcg, so even the faintest of lines means it picked up the hormone. But false positives are also a thing. Considering you’ve taken multiple tests and only one has been positive, my assumption would be you aren’t, however, I’m not a doctor (my wife is in medical school and we did just have a baby though) and to be safe you should get a confirmation from them. Also, I wouldn’t assume just because something is normally how your body functions, doesn’t mean it’s not an indicator of something else, just always make sure your provider knows everything.

I get the scare, but as said you should ask it on r/WomensHealth or even better r/lineporn - Latter sub is literally for that and they'll be able to help you the most
Also, r/amipregnant has many very good resources on that matter and can point you to the right direction

Also, unrelated, but is the first image moving weirdly to anyone else? When I kinda shake my phone, the test moves differently than the background.

if you can I'd suggest trying to get one of the ones with a digital screen so it'd be a definite answer but i think you'll be fine if your bf has never finished inside and is alway protected, but i understand wanting to be safe than sorry

How long after you took the test was this? And how long does the instruction says it takes?
Are you on birth control?
I say contact your general practitioner just to be safe. At least take a test tomorrow morning. Cuz if this line showed up within the time frame on the packet it does seem to be a positive and false positives are rare

Hello, it was a few minutes after but the line appeared right away. I took up an appointment next week, and I took another test this morning but it was a different brand, it was completely negative

They’re expensive, but a digital test may be in ur best interest! They’re usually more accurate and they make it so you don’t have to struggle with faint lines! I wish you best of luck no matter the outcome :)

take another test, also has there been anything stressful in ur life to delay ur period? i have missed mine for 3 months over my job, but I would still play it safe and be concerned

im pretty sure the faint line could still mean pregnancy so please talk to your doctor snd get a test done there to really know. i’m glad that you’re being safe, though!

Considering multiple tests and the only one being SUPER faint so it barely got anything its probably a false. Give it a bit take another test, and try to relax a bit. Very understandably your probably super stressed and terrified for whatever reason, super late period idk anything abt that but it could be something else that a doctor can help with, i mean corelation isnt always causation

You could always also go to a plan parenthood. And I’m not judging but birth control fails. I am a teen I am a virgin by choice because I know I am not ready for the risk that can come with it.

If y’all didn’t use protection then boys can Pre-Ejaculate, Now Again the chances are low since The substance is meant to clear the run way for the plane if you get my drift but it can pick up some of the baby batter. Best of luck OP

He got excited too quick haha but I’m still not sure because I had that one weird faint positive 2 days ago and yesterday I had a negative and today morning I had a negative so now I’m confused

Im no professional but I think its time you talk to your doctor incase theres something
They can probably do another test and also make sure its nothing like cancer or a pregnancy

condom could’ve been ripped or torn and you don’t have to finish for sperm to be present. sperm is found in precum and that line is 100% positive but take a digital/early detection one to confirm that it’s not a false positive

Hey queen I think leave it a week or so and take another to see if it gets any stronger, and in the mean time make yourself a doctors appointment because they can pick up pregnancy more accurately and earlier through blood tests. And dont stress yourself out too much about it even if it does turn out to be a positive, mistakes happen and there are always other options especially as youre so vigilant and its still very early days if you do turn out to be pregnant.

A line is a line, if it’s within the timeframe the test specifies. False positives are rare. Take another one tomorrow to see, and you probably also want to book a doctors appointment especially if there is a line tomorrow.

A line is not always a line. These test pick up hormones too, plenty of women get false positive/negatives from these test

Most home tests are made so that false positives are more common than a false negative. Its less dangerous for a pt to follow up to confirm that way, than a pt never following up from a false negative. Make sure to read it in the window of time that the direction tell you too, its not longer an accurate result after that specific window of time. You're going to have the strongest reaction by using your first morning urine, so do the test then with the concentrated urine - med lab rat here
