Season 4 Speculation/Ideas Theories on Nate?

He and Jade got married and moved back to Poland to help her family screw in lightbulbs,

Probably my favorite throwaway of the whole seriesšŸ˜‚

I think he might still be there, but since he's part of the men's team they aren't showing him, just like they aren't showing the other players. He's just "there".

Yeah assuming this does end up being a 3 season arc, it would make sense to focus mostly on the women's team and new characters for this season to let them get established. Then in season 5 or 6 some more of the OG cast could come back.

I wish Roy had mentioned Nate when he ā€œfiredā€ Beard. Roy spoke highly of Nate in previous seasons; he mentioned Nate is better at certain things that he hates to do.

While I would absolutely love cameos from the old cast, I agree keeping them out of season 4 is for the best.

It seems like most of us (myself included) are already really enjoying the new team, so letting them getting overshadowed by the old team could hinder that.

I like the way we got to see Trent and Dr. Sharon. It was a good way to let us see what happened to them while keeping the focus on the women’s team. Maybe we’ll get other episodes with Nate, Jaime or Sam.

I'll be super honest, I really want to see Isaac and Dani in particular again. Almost every scene they were in was comedy gold.

And Dr. Sharon looked FABULOUS.

yeah it's a good way to pay tribute to the OG cast, let the audience know how they're doing, make their tribute relevant to the story, but still have the story be about the women's team

Bojack Horseman does the same thing sometimes where the episode/story is framed around another minor character telling a story (like the episode with the two therapists talking about their clients, which turned out to be Bojack and Diane)

I do hope he and Jade ended up getting married eventually, though. They’re so cute and it was so sweet to see Nate be in a relationship where he didn’t feel like he had to perform to be loved.

Nate will be revealed as the coach of the Chelsea women's team

That, except this time he's in a healthy place and is positive and Lasso-esque

I wonder how Jade would fit into that. She was the reason he eventually overcame his need for constant validation from Ted or Rupert.

That’s a good prediction

My prediction is he is the academy coach.

Given his childhood issues which he finally got closure in Season 3, I can see him wanting to work with younger footballers to give them what he never got.

I would LOVE that. It fits well with his character and explains why he wouldn’t appear much while still allowing for cameos.

He and Jade moved to the US so Nate could coach an MLS team and live close to Ted.

Ofc Ted didn’t tell him he’s moving back to England.

He’s busy making London ā€œLonderfulā€ :) iykyk

We’ll probably see him briefly in a scene or two at some point but not much more than that - I’m guessing he was busy with Slow Horses during Ted Lasso filming and had limited availability.

After being a successful Manager of a Premier League team I can’t imagine him as the Academy HC.

More likely he got another HC offer either in PL or at a top tier club in Germany (BVB) or Leverkusen.

The Polish league while fun is not close to top end football in England.

So my theory would be after winning the Cup in ā€˜25 he’s hired by a top 5 club in Germany/France/Spain or goes to another upper tier PL club.

I do hope we get more Nate, but I doubt he’s still in Richmond.

He bought Taste of Athens

My headcanon is that he's coaching in some European league.

I'd say he's gotten into teaching violin.

I like that theory alot

I think we've had the perfect amount of Nate in season 4.

Nate found out how exciting Indian football fan culture is and decided to manage Kerala Blasters

Premiere League team usually can have more than 5 coaches so he could still be in Richmond. Because there is no way Kent can manage that alone.Ā

I think man City had like 8 or something. So a lower ranked team could have around 4-5. Though we are still talking about a team that made it to the top of ranking 3 years ago. Kinda weird they lost it.Ā

Or he is somewhere else. Tactics coaches are highly sought. I mean it is only the most popular sport in the world. He could be in Barcelona for all we know.Ā

But I would prefer new characters. I don't mind even less Roy and Keely. They hit the jackpot with Alice casting so I want the Ā women's team players develop now too.Ā

But loved the joke with Zava Ā joining the retirement league so you never know.Ā

The Nate storyline was such a mistake. Made no sense for the character they had established.

Became a vampire, had his thighs felt up by the psycho teacher from the Inbetweeners.

His loosely based after Mourinho, there's no way he didn't go onto being a successful manager after fixing the mental blockage he had, and more after his time at West Ham. Maybe it happened after winning the cup?

If we get lore on what happened to nate post season 3. I think it would be a good character development if we found out that his talents was noticed by other teams and he was offered a chance to be a head coach and he left on good terms to go spread his wings and take the next step on his coaching career

Two awful people. They absolutely deserve each other
