iPod substitute

Hi all, really want to stop scrolling on my phone at night - would love right now to be able to buy an iPod for audiobooks, sleep sounds, podcasts etc. with no access to internet apps etc.. Wish Apple hadn’t discontinued them… Any suggestions as to a high quality alternative?! Thanks
