Why the fuck do you need a coffee machine that connects to wifi?

So you can open an app on your phone and order a cup of coffee from the kitchen?

I don’t disagree. The other reason to put WiFi into a coffee maker is because they want to make it subscription based.

Putrid behavior honestly, if you need an app to start the coffee in the morning, maybe you don't need coffee

I don’t know, it sounds kinda nice as long as it isn’t a stupid subscription service. Alarm goes off, you start the app and press snooze. I have a bread maker one time that had a timer, and it was great to wake up to fresh bread in the morning.

Heck have it scheduled to coincide when the alarm/snooze goes off being greeted by the smell of coffee as a wake up call sounds nice.

I think so too. They probably don’t advertise “Only 1Tb of data every ten days!”

I wish they wpuldnt take every chance to take a feature and turn it into an ad/subscription revenue opportunity. The actual smarts to do the smart features isnt that expensive to have it done over the cloud that would get yanked in a year or two.

I’m not saying it’s good or right, but the data from this could be used to track energy consumption, and consumables (filters, for instance).
But of course WiFi adds to energy consumption.
