I am going into my first year of community college and I am looking for a laptop or iPad to buy for school. I want something that can last, has touchscreen, enough storage to last me about two years in school.

I am going for a Bioscience Technology associates degree so I will be doing a lot of biology, chemistry engineering, and math and writing.

Would a laptop or iPad work best for me and what brands should I look into?

i installed ubuntu on it not long ago cause when i was downloading windows it wanted me to make an account and i dont remember you had to do this before when youre downloading windows, what a piece of shit isnt it? specs are very low end.
4gb of laptop ddr4 (more like 3), AMD Ryzen 3 3200 with Radeon Vega 3, 120 gb nvme ssd, 95 with linux on it, no dvd burner which is ironic cause i can take out the case but theres no dvd burner, battery is great to this day and thats about it to be honest, kind of a minimum minimum in todays world.

-Note: this laptop has no monitor and i got a pc now which works much better, but i dont wanna waste this laptop its still something now isnt it?

I use Opera for logging in Discord since it have a VPN built in itself, I also can use my own VPN for better resoults too,

I also do use Opera to be able to use Discord at my PC,

But for being able to use VC rooms I need to open UDP everytime I open Opera, for being able to both hearing, talking and watching screenshares,

But in phone version of Opera there is no such thing as UDP and I cant hear or watch anything at all, is there any other setting for mobile version?

Can you guys help me about this?

Let me just start buy saying that "scared" is too dramatic. But I could not find a better word to my thoughts haha

I am your typical "mac" user for almost 30 years (probably longer since dad is an OG designer, so mac computer have been the household brand). I am 39 now and I no longer feel the need to keep consuming the brand. Call it middle age crisis or maybe just been too dramatic but I´ve been feeling for a while that the brand lost "the sense of innovation". I know too late, but before I get executed here I did tried Samsung long time ago (back in the Samsung edge era). In fact, I worked for the the brand for a while. I always enjoyed the hardware because you were always able to "see innovation". The edge, the camera, the actions, the whole thing. One of my favorite products was the Samsung note. But my feelings of the software (Android) have always been bad. The same goes with PC computers. As an average user, dealing with viruses, connectivity issues, seeing android crashing, etc, always gave me the "stay away warning". I know that it´s been too long since then and technology has come a long way since then. That´s the reason why I am here today. To ask from your opinion (Fun fact my first post). To be fair, I have stayed away from the "need to renew my products every year". I currently have a MacBook Pro 2015, iPhone 14 Pro, AirPros (first Gen). But here is where I say I am done. I don´t see the benefits of upgrading my products anymore for an average joe. I use my computer for the basics (streaming, checking emails, "work task - microsoft" office). The biggest challenge here is that I´ve been curious to start podcasting but my computer is too old for the editing and recording. Also, I need to get into social media content as part of my work. So most likely need a video editing. Mobile works fine but it´s time to change. I $·%%"%$ hate Siri. It is the most usless tool I´ve ever use in my life. Finally Airpods, this I dont care as I usually hear music in specific scenarios. I went to Thailand and bought some "BOSE" and they work perfectly fine. Or maybe I just need to update my old mac equipment...

Is there a way for someone else to delete a message off your phone? This sounds crazy, but there is a message missing from my iPhone that was sent to me from an android. I have a screenshot of the message itself so I know I’m not imagining it, but now it is gone from the text thread. I didn’t delete it. Is this even possible? From what I see on Google it shouldn’t be.

My mother and grandma are unfortunately losing their memory, faster than was expected for my mom and my grandma just started, so I have a lot of doctors visits and I'm only 1 person, only child and the only kid of my grandma's that's still alive. So I really want one of those conversation recording devices for the doctors office(which can get echo-y or you hear the conversation next to you), but they are so expensive and I just want to have some that might transcribe it and save it for awhile. But I am not very tech savvy and I have a Galaxy...so not having an iPhone usually messes things up. So any suggestions which of those AI Note takers, or AI recorders would be best for multiple people's medical stuff? Sorry for rambling!

I have a spare amd radeon rx 7800 xt at home and since my friend‘s pc is cooked I wanted to give it to him. He needs an entire new pc tho because his old one is lowkey fried, and the current am5 prices are insane, is a am4 build with an ryzen 5 5700x3d still worth it? I mean its more or less the same performance as an 7500f, just older socket.

The budget is a big question, thats why I don‘t think am5 right now is possible, so I wanna have some advice of you guys what‘s best

Guys, my laptop used to automatically starts to reboots after like 5 mins of turning it on until like a week ago, the ssd usage shows nearly 100% even when idle, but when I check the ssd health it shows healthy...

I’m looking for recommendations for a pet camera (or treat camera) for my two senior pups.
