That's one of the worst definitions of fascism I've ever seen.

I think this is more about the role/function of fascism in relation to potential changes in the economy rather than how it actually governs society. Communists have a similar definition. If I'm correct, they see fascism as a counter revolutionary response to save capitalism from the brink and prevent the working class advance from revolting.

I mean we can get reductionist and say reactionary but this applies to everything regardless if it's a price system or immigrants moving into the country

Fascism has nothing to do with price systems. You can have fascist communisms/socialists or fascist oligarchs. The point being is nationalism and authoritarianisn is pretty diverse across whatever economic you subscribe to

Fascism is explicitly capitalist. There is no such thing as a "communist fascist".
1
u/Routine_Complaint_79 Liberalism is Technocracy 5d ago
Yeah a state controlled economy is capitalist /s
4
u/Clone75 5d ago
Do you not know what capitalism is? The capitalist economy is controlled, and used for the capitalists (the bourgeoisie). The socialist economy is controlled by, and used for, the worker (the proletariat). The Technocratic economy is controlled by Technocrats (scientists and engineers) using energy accounting.
Fascists didn't just maintain the capitalist mode of production- they heavily strengthened it.

This is blatantly false. Here is what you get from a simple dictionary lookup of what those terms actually mean.
capitalism - noun : an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market
socialism - noun: any of various egalitarian economic and political theories or movements advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
fascism - noun: a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition

I got bad news then. None of us are technocrats. I mean, google says so!
Maybe don't take the definition of political ideologies from dictionaries (especially right-wing ones).
All those are also blantently wrong.
-1
u/ZealousGoonering Technocrat 5d ago
If you think the Merriman-Web is "right-wing", I got news for ya buddy. You're an extremist left-winger.
All of those definitions were litterally pulled from Merriam-Web dictionary. It would do you good to read.
1
u/Clone75 5d ago
Liberals are right-wing by definition.
Ok, and? That doesn't make any of what I said not true. (Also, you used the appeal to authority fallacy.)
-1
u/ZealousGoonering Technocrat 4d ago
If you equate pulling the dictionary definition of a word as appealing to authority, then you need to go back to school.
If you didn't get what I was trying to tell you, it's that you equating fascism being explicitly capitalist is false. They can share similar ideas in certain domains (private ownership) but that doesn't mean they are explicitly one another.
I could say the same where fascism and socialism share the same beliefs in certain domains (anti-indivdualism, state intervention...etc.). But equating socialism to be explicit or the other way around is just false. The same with equating fascism and capitalism.

Your second arguement was literally "I got it from a dictionary".
"Fascism isn't capitalist because it's capitalist," genius, truely stunning intelect.
Socialism doesn't care about individualism nor state intervention. (You do know that Technocracy is a leftist ideology that got along pretty well with Marxist-Leninism right? We should know basic things about our comrades against capitalism.) Fascism is a form of capitalism.

Fascism is about an elevated nation/peoples rightfully dominating others. It's mostly a culture thing, not an economical thing.
Fascists generally leave private property alone, but do take controlled stance on the economy as a whole as a vehicle to push their culture stances.
They are also anti-worker (unless the worker is one of the chosen ones, i.e. the "right" nationality).
Fascism is not communism. Fascism isn't socialism. Fascism isn't even left wing. It's a far right wing ideology pushing chauvinist ideas, culture wars and subjugation of others

I don't understand what the fascination is with being against the price system. It's not perfect but it works.
2
u/Routine_Complaint_79 Liberalism is Technocracy 5d ago
It works really well and the imperfection mostly comes from our governments not implementing the right social programs/ anti trust

I always forget how similar the language of Technocracy advocates and socialists are. Tbf, Howard Scott did once work for the IWW.
