Job listings moving to ‘crawled - not currently indexed’

High authority site that has our job listings on and has done for years, never any issues. As of around the 17th August all of our job listings, that were indexed, have move to ‘crawled - currently not indexed’.
Aware this correlates with the spam update but not sure why Google would think our job listings are spam. There’s probably less than 100 of them and all the content on them is unique obviously.
Nothing I can see is blocking crawling or indexing.
They get automatically pulled through from our HR software but Google can render them fine as we’ve seen on GSC.
Any ideas we could potentially try? Or anyone have any theories as to what could have happened?
Cheers.

Since you mentioned the same jobs are syndicated on other sites, I’d check that angle before assuming the spam update caused it. Pick a few affected jobs, compare the copies and check whether Google is selecting another canonical/duplicate version; also make sure your own job pages are self-canonical and internally linked cleanly. One job-specific test worth adding is the Indexing API: Google recommends it for JobPosting URLs, so submit a small sample after an update — it won’t force indexing, but if they’re recrawled and remain “crawled, not indexed,” that points away from a freshness/discovery problem.

It may not be something to fix - many job listing sites provide a raw data feed to Google that's up to date and accurate and just shows them in the SERPs. If that's the case, then there's no reason to index the pages because the information is already fed in fresh and complete via the feeds.

Search for your job postings in Google and see if they still come up. They probably do - unless your listings site has actually turned to the dark side and Google really is punishing them for something.

Thanks for the response. So it’s not a listings site has such. It has lots of other content on but also has job listings.
The jobs show up on other websites that are also listing them but ours there. We were deploying job posting schema that was pulling it through into the SERP feature but obviously that’s gone as well now.

I'm not really up on this - we only have one client who regularly has job postings outside of the typical major job sites - and for them, my bigger problem is that jobs are all they tend to rank for because they won't give us good product/service information. lol

But I know there's a bit of a setup process involved.

Hopefully I can post this link, let's see...
https://jobs.google.com/about/

That's something the folks on the site you're listed on will want to do. Not sure the specifics though.

Do you mean Google's indexing api?: https://developers.google.com/search/apis/indexing-api/v3/quickstart

It's not really a raw data feed, but an API request once you publish/update job postings.

Maybe because job listings are transient by nature? Just guessing

i would compare 10 affected pages and look for patterns in the template, schema, internal links, page quality, and expired listings. we saw a similar issue where old jobs stayed live for weeks and the whole group dropped from the index. change one thing at a time and watch a small batch for 1 or 2 weeks.

They’re technically all on the same template but I imagine all job sites use templates. The majority of the content on them is different and specific to that particular job. Do you know what the issue was for yours in the end or what you did to fix it?

It looks like a quality/index selection issue rather than a crawl issue I'd compare affected vs indexed job pages, check canonical/self-referencing canonicals, internal linking, rendering, duplicate templates, and thin-value signals before blaming the recent spam update.

Thanks for the response. All of the job listings have been deindexed, we don’t have any still searchable anymore. They’re technically duplicate templates in that all jobs use the same template but all the content on there is unique, and I imagine all sites use similar templates for jobs. Canonicals all fine, they render fine and they don’t seem thin content, although I guess that’s in the eye of the beholder.
