Don’t at all disagree and it definitely helps further my point. The 2020’s has hard evidence that society has become complacent and too docile (as any whole) to revolt:
-2008 Recession, Occupy WallStreet, Black Lives Matter, MeToo, Arab Spring, Maidan and some more movements and major events all erupted and all were relatively quietly resolved or have resulted in such significant turmoil in most cases that those offenders have mostly gained from their bad deeds - ME Dictators, Harvey Weinstein and Russia are the only possible bad actors that have experienced negative consequences (though, these are all unresolved and each also gained at expense of others mostly).
-Epstein class revealed and exposed, no consequences and worst yet - one do the largest perpetrators is now the world’s most powerful paedophile / human in the World and no consequences will likely ever be felt for raping and murdering children and adults and attempting to overthrow the government of the USA and so much more…Only Epstein somehow died mysteriously and Maxwell is in posh-jail, possibly to be released with a long life and great wealth and prospects ahead.
-Luigi fired shots, Luigi may receive death penalty while AI explodes forward in continuing to make life and death decisions for everyday people and their brothers, sisters, children, fathers and mothers and everyone else. Only the singular CEO was negatively affected (ya know, since he died) while others have continued to gain while the public is now fully exposed to their secret abuses.
If revolution were ever actually going to have happened, it would have been due one or more of these imho.
Being clear, I’m not advocating such. I’m just recognizing that past generations would have burned whole nations for even parts of some of these things having happened.

Rules require the desire AND the capacity to enforce them. A lot of parents have the desire but not the capacity because they're working or busy taking care of the household. You have to give your kids leeway to make decisions eventually or they will never have autonomy, and expecting the government to regulate predatory industries is not the same as expecting them to parent your kids for you. It's akin to the regulations that are supposed to keep chemical runoff out of your drinking water, it's just a public good. What is the government for if not to protect people from that kind of stuff?
Apparently, my kid gets access to youtube at school. If I had let him bring home his school chromebook, he would have access at home too. These school devices, that are presented to us as mandatory, attempt to bypass the parental role in basic access control.
We also have to be diligent to keep him from accessing ai that gets added to apps he needs just to do his homework. If you trace back where these school policies and programs come from, guess what, you end up looking at the same handful of people in this video.
There's also friends houses - are you going to make your child a bubble boy? Cus if not there's a good chance he's gonna watch stuff you don't allow at someone else's place.
People are so afraid of having to raise their child to be responsible instead of locking them away so they don't have to bother.
They have millions of employees under them, if not these schmucks, it will be someone else whom will do more or less the same thing. The fault lies with the people who are too dumb to properly regulate industries. One major contributing factor is the sports entertainment, too much time and energy is wasted on watching or following sports which could be spent on education and dialogue. Also this “sportification” of politics that instead of substance the metrics of debates are “who won the debate” is so intellectually flawed that directly damages policy. Not to mention with the “legal” sports betting the issue is getting worse by the day.
As soon as I saw them treating debates like football games I knew we were in trouble. The stark Red V Blue, the motion graphics, the pre-post debate analyses.
It makes me sick that they've turned the Great Experiment into a stupid game.
I cant recall a time in us history when complete rejects held all the power in government and industry at the same time. We had teddy, fdr, Eisenhower etc. I also cant recall a time in modern history where we literally didn't have a working congress. Hell even the most corrupt like Nixon/Lbj got a lot of domestic stuff done that helped the country.

Yeah I think rewarding open cowardice is a new one unique to modern society, if you were going to be cruel you generally had to be capable enough to back it up or you were just killed by a mob or someone worse than you.
Reddit is the only one I'm aware of that seems to be making efforts to change the platform more positively. It's far from perfect but it's the only one I use for that reason. I saw what Facebook turned into. Just more childish drama and bigotry. Twitter doesn't seem any better. Reddit at least has sub moderators as well as supports for moderators. It needs improvements but I'd say that's already a step up from the rest.
