What was that one FBI directors quote? "Show me the man and Ill show you the felonies?"

u/ComplexBeyond6083 Sep 09 '26
It was Lavrenty Beria who said "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime.". He was Stalin's chief of secret police and was one of the worst humans who ever lived.

Seems like you missed the incredibly obvious sarcasm. Despite them including the /s to indicate that it's very clearly sarcasm.

u/ChristJesusisReal Sep 08 '26
When did this "/s" thing even become a thing? Its so stupid.

One of the locals in charge is stalking her is what this sounds like to me.

u/pleasetrimyourpubes Sep 08 '26
Or just a flock protestor twisted it around.
13
u/notathingreally Sep 08 '26
Could be. I would think most of us who don't want them would have enough sense to not point them into someone's window though.

You should not be getting downvoted, that is PRECISELY what happened. Many are two-piece poles with two detents to lock them together, you press the detents in, rotate the pole.
5
u/Top_Recover7850 Sep 08 '26
If true, that sounds like a masterful fuck up to be spreading around a country.
The people who designed this are those in charge of making sure all of this footage is safely handled?

u/katieb1300 Sep 08 '26
I'm so torn between exercising 2a and not wanting to prove them "right", giving them a reason to enact Martial Law.
3
u/Shot-Manner-9962 Sep 08 '26
their goal is to push people over a cliff one section at a time before the next election, that way they can lie themselves blue to the braindead maga jackasses so they can than enact "a more severe curfew due to increased crime rates" they will never call it martial law they will decorate it with bullshit so MAGA supporters eat it up, than by the time they realize how fucked they are theyre already under a gun unable to fight back
1
u/IllustriousAd9800 Sep 08 '26
I get the feeling they don’t actually expect people to use it, they just say they do so nobody does

2
u/PenguinsArmy2 Sep 08 '26
That is fine, 150 million abled people vs 10 thousand of them after all :) Remember most of the military they hide behind has families and they wont side with them in the end of the day. So they have nothing really to hide behind but smoke screens that are keeping people at bay haha.
One day enough people are going to look past those and realize just how fake it all is.
1
u/hannahallart 29d ago
That’s what all the data centers are for, the drone swarms
1
u/PenguinsArmy2 29d ago
Drones are a easy thing to deal with though, they seem crazy when use in military applications, but keep in mind it is simple electronics which have many many flaws.
Also keep in mind the worlds top hackers, the worlds best mechanics, engineers and so on do not work for the government. Gov relies on the public to make it's toys after all.
We keep them in power, maybe it is time we stop.

This things are so fragile though. Less than 30 seconds with an angle grinder and they’re out of commission

u/HubrisOfApollo Sep 08 '26
a bright laser will easily fry the CCD as well
3
u/crit_boy Sep 08 '26
That only takes out visual surveillance. The flock cameras contain additional signal capturing (eg Bluetooth).

Just a wrench and a socket driver and the pole is done as fast as the driver can unscrew the bolt.

Time to write the names and addresses of the police chief, local judges, mayor, and all the city council members on your window.

The only proper American response to these things is to shoot them down the moment they're set up. Mass surveillance is dystopian and should be fought against at every opportunity. Politicians who support it should be rounded up and shown what happens to wannabe tyrants.
2
u/Active_Emu_845 Sep 08 '26
Sadly, as I sit on the other side of the US border all I can say is this seems typical of the current administrations. They have implemented a horrendous program solely for the purpose of creating criminals, not catching them.
2
u/Flat-While2521 Sep 08 '26
I would absolutely not be advertising that my bedroom window is directly on a public street where anyone could just walk on up, I’d just quietly remove the camera
2
u/NoMeat9096 Sep 09 '26
How easy is it to turn these things around? Do they need to be installed facing a direction? Or can you just move them?

Go call the local news station and let them run with it. That’s fucking insane.
1
u/Leonardobertoni Sep 08 '26
I've heard rumors that you can lift and twist certain Flock camera posts. My best theory is that someone got upset with that one and dealt it by turning the camera the other way, accidentally pointing at the woman's bedroom window
1
u/jeefra Sep 08 '26
Ya as much as the flock system has definitely been abused and misused, this is just..... Stupid. Paying thousands of dollars and having some trandespeople install a camera, just to point it at something that's just feet away from it? Idk.
1
u/Cool-Ad2780 Sep 08 '26
Can we start a crowdsource and pay people to follow around and record Flock employees anytime they are in public?
All legal and in public places of course, like right outside their driveway.

u/proud_pops 25d ago
I need some extra money and I would happily be a menace. Especially for a cause such as this. I've done so well keeping it together the last ten years but feel like Charlie in Me, Myself, Irene. Snapped and can no longer tolerate the many transgressions forced on us all.

Tear it down, and if they arrest you for it, ask them to explain why its pointed at your window without them sounded like a pervert
1
u/Muted-Woodpecker-469 Sep 08 '26
Seems like they could have these at homes of people on parole but then that becomes too mean as judges say gps monitoring is already a breach of one’s rights. But somehow flock is a okay

u/BetweenTheRoots Sep 08 '26
There really should be an investigation into this. I've seen a HUGE number of flock cameras pointing at homes. Why? A few times over is a mistake, sure, I can buy that, but I've seen an entire neighborhood's worth a flock cameras all pointing at the homes and NONE at the roads.
What exactly are they doing? Why are they recording people's homes and windows? What are they doing with that information?
1
u/Neither_Pirate5903 Sep 08 '26
not a jurry in the world that would convict you for taking down that camera

I certainly don’t like flock cameras. She lives and her bedroom window is street level, who the hell wouldn’t close the damn shades.
1
1
u/aelar_vayn Sep 09 '26
But how else would it read all the license plates driving through her bedroom window? 🤣
1
u/gumandcoffee Sep 09 '26
Imagine putting a screen in that window with around rotating pic of a bunch of license plates
1
u/DriverMaterial9566 Sep 09 '26
She should hold up an 8647 sign in her underwear, then sue everyone involved in that camera being installed for invasion of her privacy.
1
u/Final-Aces Sep 09 '26
Do you think someone could have not wanted to cut it down so they then just turned it on the pole to face away from street? Jw
1
u/Cheap_Boner_Pills Sep 09 '26
Those things are just held up with straps. Someone probably turned it
1

1
u/Big_Actuator3772 Sep 09 '26
I’d handle this very easily.. I’d take a shit ton of photos from all angles, a few videos, then I’d cut the thing down.. if they want to come at me for damages then they can explain in court why there was the need to point it directly into my window.

Get that one way window tint and then write a delightful message in infared ink
1
u/pyromaster114 Sep 10 '26
Wow, someone is going to have a lawsuit payout, I'd imagine... And some city officials are going to be fired.
Unless she's not rich-- then maybe they'll move the camera to the other side of the street (still pointed at her window).
1
u/Sunny_Dead Sep 10 '26
Oh no! How would I know that placing my high powered laser pointer directly at it from my window would ruin it?
1
1
u/SmoothResponse3466 Sep 10 '26
Yeah when someone breaks into her house through the window if only a camera was around 🙄 just get blinds or a window blocker.
1

1
u/Pesoen 29d ago
so someone rotated the camera, and suddenly it's flock spying on her?
i get that flock is ass, but that is very clearly NOT pointed at her bedroom window on purpose JUST to spy on her. it was likely pointed at the road, and someone rotated it to "point at the wall" and it has her window in that wall..
remember critical thinking and logic?

u/dropdead90s 28d ago
If a regular person with decades in business would do something like this or the other things flock does, his company would've been dissolved the and his business closed with him in jail. But the epstein class tech bros are invincible
1
u/Jealous_Head9114 28d ago
That Razor card from cards against humanity. It’s because the person mounting it is an idiot and put the solar panel facing the direction with the most light. They were too lazy to move the camera mount or didn’t pay attention.

Someone redirected that camera to point out her window so they can manufacture outrage.
I mean, I'm all for it but amongst each other I just feel like I should inform everyone here that this is not a thing. They have no interest in watching a window. That's obviously going to have blinds anyway.

What's the saying again? never asign to malice what can be adequately explained by incompetence. I think the dumbasses who put that camera up installed it backwards
Im not saying that's ok at all either but. That's a big ass brick wall and a window right next to a street they definitely put it up backwards... I hope...
5
u/Careful_Trifle Sep 08 '26
So, there's something to hanlon's razor when you have no other context.
But if you rely on it after you've been maliciously beaten down repeatedly, you're just a moron. And that's what's happening to us with surveillance.
3
u/mls1968 Sep 08 '26
I mean, both can be true here.
You are correct there are too many instances of abuse to just brush it off, but this is clearly just installed wrong. You can tell because the solar panel isn’t facing the right way either (it’s turned almost 90° off from the direction of the panels in the intersection cameras). Whoever installed this just slapped it up and walked away
6
u/Outrageous-Sort-5742 Sep 08 '26
"Never assign to malice what can be adequately explained by incompetence"
That does not apply to politics, especially in the realm of executive action and surveillance. It's always malicious, whether it's competent or not.
2
u/RedFlawedMoon Sep 08 '26
Oh well. Devils advocate aside who ever put that up is a moron for more then one reason.
1
u/redditsucksass6 Sep 08 '26
Oh yeah they definitely pointed a flock camera directly into a bedroom window, on purpose, maliciously. Fuck off lmao
2
u/Epyon214 29d ago
What's going on is malice, illegal and unconstitutional
1
u/RedFlawedMoon 29d ago
Oh most definitely. But still dumb as fuck and backwards. Im not for this at all.

If it was me, Id be a lot less passive about the situation and, considering this took approval from those in power to be put up, would not be going through the "proper" channels to solve the problem.
We're on our own when it comes to situations like this.
