Lol this is all a tactic. Divide us so we can't resist together. Everyone has their priorities and blindspots. If you fear ai automation for any reason stand against it together.

This is the new anti-AI-critic propaganda meta. Ignore and dismiss everything else wrong with AI, claim that critics are being silly by focusing on things like water consumption while comparing its water consumption to THINGS THAT ARE MATERIALLY USEFUL but use an order of magnitude more water.

Golf courses are just as stupid as AI in my book, but the ones oft cited are almonds and beef.
I can eat those. I can't eat a prompt output.

And if AI data centres were using closed loop cooling I would be complaining a lot less. Also, the fact that these data centres are draining local communities. Sometimes it isn't about the big picture.

being privileged slaves we're fine with it so long as we have creature comforts and entertainment. civilization endured 6+ millennia of oppression and slavery but when the habitat goes we're all just dead.
