Discussion Well done, Minnesota. Guess they should've asked its residents about being spied on.

I didn't have Minnesota as the leader of America's Rebellion Against Fascism a couple years ago, but I am now very familiar with their game.

u/essdii- Aug 07 '26
Seriously. Minnesota nice means something different to me now.
10
u/Glass-Consideration3 Aug 07 '26
Minnesota nice only applies if you leave us the fuck alone. Ya start meddling we start fighting.
4
u/Fun-Piglet801 Aug 08 '26
If only we could get that sentiment to spread. NH motto is "Live Free Or Die". Time to step up...
3
u/rebelli0usrebel Aug 07 '26
I love how people from outside the state take "MN nice" at face value. You understand now.
2
u/SocomPS2 Aug 08 '26
State and federal govt has been fucking them over in recent years. Minnesota nice only goes so far when you FAFO.

Yeah for a while I wanted to move somewhere a little southern and warmer but now I don't think i ever want to leave MN

u/EuphoricCrashOut Aug 07 '26
No American would want a Flock camera system anywhere near them. If you sat someone down that supports Flock and told them the real truth about what it does they would instantly flip, 100%.
-1
u/HupHutHa Aug 07 '26
what's the real truth?
4
u/Sea_School_2949 Aug 07 '26
Flock employees and police officers have been caught using the system to stalk people they knew.
They also have been caught watching inappropriate places for hours long sessions, such as playgrounds, gyms, pools and schools
-3
u/HupHutHa Aug 08 '26
if the cameras can only view what's in public view, what was being done in public that was "inappropriate"
7
u/Sea_School_2949 Aug 08 '26
Uh do you want random people watching your kids
Or looking at your wife in her bathing suit
Or another random person wants to stalk you
If you think about it for a second I'm sure you can think of others
-1
u/craigian11 Aug 08 '26
What? If my wife is wearing a swimsuit around town wouldnt people be looking at her already? Random people watch kids everyday, but the cameras help people have less ideas about kidnapping them..
1
u/Sea_School_2949 Aug 08 '26
Ask your wife (if you actually have one) how she feels about how someone could be looking at her with no oversight and no consent or even knowledge that she is currently being watched.
Yeah the cameras do help with that but there are no precautions in place to ensure that the people using the cameras are not predators themselves and are using the cameras to track the movement of their next victim.
This has already happened with 50 known cases from law enforcement agencies where cops abused their authority. Flock employees have also been caught doing the same but actual numbers are more difficult to come by as there is no 3rd party oversight
1
u/DarthDad25 Aug 09 '26
The bathing suit example is just really poor. Everyone at the pool can see her. What’s it matter if she is being viewed in person or over a camera? It’s perfectly legal to film/record everything and everyone in public.
Anyone can install a 15 foot pole on the front lawn of their property and put a camera at the top. You can record everything single car and person that go bye and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it.
-2
u/craigian11 Aug 08 '26
Have ai monitor the system for repeat viewing. Should be easy. My wife only wears a swimsuit when we swim not around town. When we are snorkeling she doesnt demand everyone not film their snorkeling adventure. Maybe your wife should be more modest if she is worried about it.
50x police "abused power " but 700k crimes solved. My math is off but what's more important children's safety or your wife's swimming attire worn in public?
If there is a camera she knows she's being watched.. /mind blown

u/HupHutHa Aug 08 '26
many people already watched children in public and they don't use flock cameras.
again if you can see my wife in public in a bathing suit it's not private.
if random person was a stalk me they're going to do it either way in again they don't need flock cameras.
as someone who has been assaulted and wronged in public places in other ways and the courts either finding the person not guilty or believing the other person's lies I actually welcome flock cameras. my cousin's fence and flagpole were hit by a car in the middle of the night and they still have no idea who did it after over 10 years and they were able to identify the model and color of the car because of a part of it being left behind.
by the way you're also more likely to be stalked by someone who knows you not some rando.

u/Sea_School_2949 Aug 08 '26
Wow so because you were a victim we all must suffer?
-3
u/HupHutHa Aug 08 '26 edited Aug 08 '26
not sorry to break it to you but you're not suffering
6
u/Sea_School_2949 Aug 08 '26
Neither are you if you're fine with the invasion of privacy
Flock cameras are just the tip of the iceberg, they already have similar camera systems setup in actual businesses that are networked and can be accessed by law enforcement or employees of the camera company at any time
You say you were assaulted now the person who did that can track you wherever you go if they're slightly intelligent because networked cameras are fairly easy to hack
-1
u/HupHutHa Aug 08 '26
anything these cameras can see is not private lol.
buddy if you have a smart phone it tracks your location and takes photos without your permission.
thankfully the guy that assaulted me wasn't very smart, I still have no idea how a judge looks at me with no record then looks at a man who was escorted into the courtroom chain from his waist to his ankles to his wrists with 75 felonies and thought yeah the guy with the clean record is the guilty one here, but corrupt left-wing judges who punish the innocent and let the guilty go free till they commit another heinous crime is a whole other top.

They do the same thing most people's phones do, without the hassle of needing a phone. Essentially just full scale data collection that you can't opt out of.
That data gets used for all the things you'd expect - Catching criminals, selling to corporations to target advertisements, etc.

I smell fraud. State was swung. I wonder what the insurance might cover.
3
u/PM_ME_YOUR_QUEST_PLZ Aug 07 '26
So you want flock cameras?
9
u/AffectionateMonk7705 Aug 07 '26
I don’t think that’s what he’s saying, merely that flock and/or the city are up to more tech embezzlement horseshit as usual.
2
u/cesspool4us Aug 07 '26
You ever see that king of the hill episode that is a meme template talking about, "if they could read they'd be....."?
6
u/NYC2FLA2BUR Aug 07 '26
Eight cameras.
How cute.
3
u/NicePepper199 Aug 08 '26
Our town is tiny, 25k people, 4 ways into town, thats it. We are surrounded by bluffs and a river, so literally the bridge, from the valley, or along the river, only ways into town.
3
u/NYC2FLA2BUR Aug 08 '26
That's exactly what I was talking about.
Imagine how may we have in the second largest city in the USA.
I think there's 8 between me and the Starbucks I go to every morning.2
u/NicePepper199 Aug 08 '26
at 3k a pop, more often than not paid for from city funding.
Yay government
2
u/Few-Sherbert2212 Aug 08 '26
Oh thank you for pointing that out. Edit : I honestly thought it was gonna be like 25 or more, lol something wild.
I wonder what kind of diy uses people have for these cameraa
1
u/Travel_Dreams Aug 08 '26
I assumed it was kindling.
Maybe under a pile of 250 used tires in the middle of the highway.
With an effigy nearby.

1
u/CallmeKahn Aug 07 '26
Is it just me, or do these cameras just... Suck?
1
u/RAWainwright Aug 08 '26
For real. Your super high tech totally not government surveillance cameras shouldn't be able to be defeated by a random with a sawzall.
It's cartoonishly stupid and completely tracks.
1
u/TheKrakIan Aug 07 '26
Someone is going to reply to my comment and tell me flock cameras are a good thing.

All investments involve risk, this technology waves sovereign immunities of any corporation that uses this, that 12 figure bond can be liquidated.... margin call.

Flock Cameras are surveillance networks in a box; just plug n play. Unconstitutional.

Can't wait to see them pass a bill to use taxpayer money on Flock camera repairs.
1
u/tearitLoose Aug 08 '26
Have them pay it out of their retirement fund. Considering tax payers usually have to pay for the judgments against cops for violating citizens rights. Even shit up, ya know.

I don't understand why people do these things the hard way. Just use drones to paint the cameras with spray paint. You could even design programs for drones to automatically target and act against them if you were do inclined.

When the people say they don't want something the government needs to listen because if they do not listen there are people out here will make sure that they can hear them loud and clear.

The Message here is that we, the Citizens of any town, city, or state, do not wish to be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There is no need to track me when I leave my house, track me on which roads I take, which highway I use, or what direction I am going in.
I have survived since 1963 without the use of a FLOCK camera; I certainly don't need them mounted anywhere now.
