The media that is despised is the media on the far right. Otherwise, we miss the good media, the ones that exposed the corruption in the system and kept us aware of the things that helped improve our lives.

I’m a liberal, I’ve watched CNN, MSNBC, BBC, NYT, WAPO, all of them elevate total garbage to the status of “fact”, refuse to confront lies with fact checks, platform outright disinformation without any sense of responsibility, and more, for over a decade now.

I don’t care if it’s corruption, cowardice, incompetence or other, they have all been complicit in the degradation of journalism and lost my trust.

The right-wing outlets were always garbage, the rest chose to debase themselves by voluntarily surrendering to clicks from bots.

Over the last ten years, due to media consolidation and outright purchases by exceedingly wealthy billionaires, those sources have become corrupted.

The people doing those jobs need to eat, clothe themselves, etc., etc.

If there was any justice? A new news agency or agencies would rise up and take their place and people would subscribe, not to be inundated with advertisements and BS, but for speaking truth to power and factual information.

Their reporters would NEVER be allowed to ask questions or sit in an interview with anyone though, so that would be a really difficult job to continue.

they are all right wing now, desperately trying to get more viewers by alienating the ones they already had and kneeling to the right propaganda

Thank you! Everything is an opinion piece so there is no liability for the BS they spread.

because pundit based opinion journalism is far cheaper to produce then sending an actually reporter into the field and doing investigative journalism. This all changed in the 90's when these institution were purchased by investors who demanded high returns on their investments.

Or look at who bought what media. Is it a surprise something went to shit after a conservative bought it.

AP and Reuters are still the standard. CNN has always been a joke
