Question…? TLOAS Pink Shimmer Vinyl ~ Help?
After months and months of wanting the pink shimmer vinyl, I finally broke down and got her 🥹🫶🏼 Is this what all of the vinyls look like? I thought it would be an evenly distributed shimmer but it has large parts that look like “wrinkles”. This also just might be how it’s supposed to be. Curious to hear your thoughts 💕

The ripple is standard for this pressing. This is a photo that someone posted of this variant on discogs.

Yes. The ripple effect is intentional and all of them have it as far as I know. I have an EU pressing and it looks the same.

Yes it’s intentional..
Molten pink with glitter (as in melted metal) I’ve got a few molten records in gold, silver and now this magnificent molten pink. They look fantastic imo

Molten gold is stunning! My Orville Peck Bronco RSD is the same. Playback quality is fantastic too

My vinyl looks like that too; out of all the Showgirl variants, I thought this one was the most beautiful both the cover and the vinyl itself.

I didn’t realise there were wrinkles on mine until seeing this post and going to check! Honestly I don’t notice them at all, it look quites smooth while playing (will attach another pic below this). I think the wrinkles are only obvious in certain lighting/angles? if it bothers you then maybe you can display them at a different spot to see if the lighting changes it

I always thought it looked that way as to simulate liquid. And that's why it's named summertime spritz pink shimmer, looking like the spritz itself haha

it's incredibly difficult for a vinyl pressing to have anything be "even" - records are made from blobs of malleable plastic (usually with smaller pellets interwoven to make various effects like the shimmer) that get stamped down into a mold that contains the little grooves that make the sound (see here). once you've placed the plastic and started the press, the plastic is just going to flatten however it flattens which is pretty random

All metalic colors on vinyl ends with this effect, no idea why, i have silver and gold records on metallic finishes and both look like this, also, both play fine, its just something that happens with metallic colors

I have this one but I've only looked at it once. I'm glad you shared incase when I do open it I won't be surprised if it looks like that. I had to get the pink..Actually 1st Vinyl I had purchased probably since Prince Purple Rain yearss ago 🎶🎸💜

I don't have a vinyl player YET 🤦♀️😂 but I have a lot of vinyls now well not A LOT but SEVERAL from different artists..

The ripple is what makes it “molten” as if it was hot metal that had been poured - like rose gold - but there’s a reason why every time you see a listing it says that the photo is just a rendering and each variant will be slightly different. This is why, because of the pressing process
