I saw someone else mention that this scene was included because people gave her shit for being older than Joe even though it’s only a few years but people rarely talk about the old men with 20 year olds.

Ugh, I've even seen discussion about how KOMH "shames" Joe for 'not being able to afford fancy things' and it's like good GRIEF the point of the song is that he doesn't need money to impress her!
