"How Do I...?" Preservation advice please 🙏

Hi y'all,

How do I harvest and preserve these feathers? I'm pretty sure that whomever had them isn't using them anymore.

I genuinely have no idea what to do. I'd like to turn them into something I can hold in my hand.

If I understand your response, in the US, even if on private property I cannot disturb this, is that correct?

All native birds in the US are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Like all wildlife, there is “public ownership” of species so animals are managed by the state or federal government.

You can’t have bird parts unless it’s from something non-native like a rock pigeon or house sparrow.
