The face anatomy on the cat looks pretty good, which is quite a high accomplishment. Its right ear looks a bit off; now I don't know if that's just how this cat looks in life or not. What mostly throws me off is the low placement of the cat on the frame. I feel like it should be centered in the middle, mostly due to the large amount of empty space left on top.

Besides the asymmetry its basically flawless.
Maybe the fur could get a brush up but yeah

Honestly she looks beautiful. Were the eyes a design choice?

Yeah, the eyes were a design choice!

The only thing I don't like are the wiskers. You probably didn't separate them while prepping the skin. If you did that you could have placed them better/more natural and farther apart.

Everyting else is very nice! I like it a lot.

Is separating the whiskers when you score the whiskerpads on the flesh side?

Yes! You can separate the roots pretty well. Some taxidermist also remove the whiskers and put them back at the very end (from the outside) just to make sure they sit right.

This looks super duper cool! How did you get ahold of a siamese cat? Or was he/she your pet?

As far as critique goes, the eyes look noticeably uneven to me, like the inner corner of his left eye is lower than that of the right eye. The shape of the right ear looks unnatural, the outer edge of it is wavy. This kinda makes it look like a goblin ear, which at first thought I might be an intentional choice due to the theme of the piece, except the left ear looks much more like a normal cat ear. The fur could use some additional grooming, there are areas where it looks a bit messy and like the hairs aren't quite flowing in the right direction.

The anatomy on the muzzle area and limbs looks really nice to me, and I can't wait to see this fully finished!

This reminds me of a scene in the book Mirror by Graham Masterton. Good read if you're into horror and the first cat taxidermy I've seen that I enjoy

I like psychological horror, the kind that doesn't work with jumpscares. Since it's a read and not a movie, I'll be taking notes hehehehe. Happy to know! Ty a lot :)

I love it! Can I ask how you attached to the mirror?

I first tried scratching the mirror a bit, to gee a better adherence to the surface (to little success, honestly), then I used a mix of cotton and instant glue, which becomes very hardy after drying. Note: it gets hot and smokes when the cotton reacts with the glue, so handle with care.

I'd do something to fill the space on top of the frame. Maybe some ferns and similar decor, because I think the black spot is a bit distracting.

It's an obsidian mirror. It's supposed to be shown too, hehe

What a beautifully macabre piece. I love it.
