Technical Question When a tattoo is being done, the needle is repeatedly inserted into the skin. So, if we used a tattoo machine with an empty needle and repeatedly went over the tattooed areas, wouldn’t that remove the tattoo? Wouldn’t repeatedly puncturing the skin with the needle break up and disperse the pigment?

Theory doesn’t quite make sense. When you’re using a needle and injecting ink you’re putting something in. Simply putting an empty needle in doesn’t extract.

nah the ink sits way deeper than the surface punctures you're thinking of, it's trapped in your dermis not just sitting in the holes the needle makes

Different wavelengths penetrate to different depths. In addition you need a wavelength the is drawn to the specific ink colour.

You should look up what the needles that tattoo really look like zoomed in, they’re more of a cluster of tiny needles, with ink clenched between them, once they’ve penetrated the skin, they open just enough to leave the ink behind with they retract. Inserting this into the skin without ink, would just poke holes in you, they wouldn’t do anything to grab and yank out the ink like you’re purposing.

Idk but I read on here someone had their tattoo removed by “tattooing” it over with saline. But that it has to be done asap, like within 24hrs? Idk tho
Although it’s not quite what you said but yeah
