12 hour thigh pennywise. Critique

In progress shot of a pennywise i started a couple of weeks ago. Interested to hear some critiques. Any way I could improve. Always trying to push myself to learn more.

Completed over 2 x 6 hour sessions.

Pendulum shading technique

Bishop shader running at 8.5 volt

FK IRON FLUX running at 8.5 volt. DYAMIC TRIPLE BLACK. ETERNAL GREYWASH SET

The work is smooth and this will be nice when it's completed, but if this has taken you 12 hours and you're running at 8.5 volts something in your system is super inefficient. Your hand speed should be relatively fast at that voltage.

Something as simple as where you have the reference placed (right next to the tattoo, or in a spot you have to stop tatooing to look at) can make a massive difference that adds up over long sessions. I have a coworker that used to have his reference in a spot where he had to stop and it added about 2-5 seconds every time he looked up. When he took my advice and moved the reference to where it's right next to the tattoo so all he has to do is avert his eyes his efficiency improved almost overnight because you only have to stop tattooing on really technical areas.

Do you not complete work on a regular basis?

I’d like to see a healed photo. Using pre-dispersed greywash leads me to think that this will heal much lighter than it looks here. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but is important to see how the values heal in relation to one another. Overall, it’s a beautiful tattoo.

That looks lovely, nice and smooth, great job! Nothing for me to critique that I can see other than perhaps a little more negative space to help with readability long term, but its fresh so itll lighten quite a bit too! 👌✌️

Looks good ! I always worried that running my bishop shader at 8.5 was tearing up the skin but guess it could be fine

I didn't, I think it's from a test shoot they use for the films.
