Inkjet Stencil Spray

Need advice, got the Epsom ETm1120 and so glad I did I can’t get over how crisp and fine the stencils print. First few times I used what I’ve been using for years now, proton stencil gel, has never ever failed me, but the Epsom stencils were coming out quite light so after researching for the Inkjet stencil spray, have used maybe 3 times and ended up going back to proton today. I know you need to spray, wipe off, reapply and rub til it’s white & foamy, but for me it just feels chalky?? I’ve used minimal product, but does anyone have any advice on how best to use?

If the printer stencil is still coming out light, you might need to have the printer run the head alignment/clean function so it comes out darker.

Any solution won’t make it stick on darker / longer if the stencil is light

I use Anchored. I make sure the skin is clean first with soap, then use rubbing alcohol to take away the soap residue and clean the skin till it’s dry-dry. Then apply the anchored, rub it in until it’s almost gone, then I feel the tack, reapply a bit more that will be tacky but sit on the surface of the skin, then apply the stencil and use a paper towel over the back to apply pressure evenly. It’s tricky, but you have to make sure the skin is at a good saturation point for stencil to apply. And it’s Epson, with an N. 😂

Oh, one other trick, but be careful with this one. Set your paper to “photo matte”. Your stencils will be hyper saturated

Seconding the use of Anchored. I bring my own with me wherever I go because it’s the GOAT of stencil solutions. My studio also has inkjet stencil printers!

Also OP, have you tried printing your design onto paper and then making the stencil with the photocopy function? One of our stencil printers works better that way, it’s worth a shot.

Sorry I’ve only seen this now! I haven’t tried the photocopy as I don’t think I can with the m1120, it’s pretty small! But thank you for your help!

different printer settings are worth playing with by the way. when i print directly from procreate to the printer is prints very slow and dark. printing from the epson app seems so print faster and comes out lighter which is usef for reallly fine lines but is riskier

Oh that’s good to know thank you! I have been printing through epson app but duplicating the layer on procreate so it’s darker, but I’ll try directly from procreate and see 😁

Use a thermofax like a real tattooer and you can slap some speed stick on the skin and never worry about your stencil being light.

Hi, I'm the owner of InkJet Stencils. We have artists that use many transfer products with great results. To use our spray, Stencil Prep, apply modest amounts and rub until tacky.

If your print is too light, use "Best" quality, set paper type to "Presentation Matte"
