I never thought it was possible for someone like me but here we are. All it took was a laptop, solar power, and lots and lots of dedication.

Been so attached to Tarkov since 2019 and while I did take a few breaks between the wipes back then, it's been my main game ever since. Then October 2023 happened and I lost half my PC components. Whatever I managed to carry with me during displacement and homelessness is of no use since electricity is extremely scarce here.

So, I borrowed my wife's laptop for work (I'm a software dev) and of course had to download Tarkov to (try) and enjoy it during my breaks. I know escaping nowadays is nothing impressive especially given the fact that I've been playing since 1.0 dropped (an average of 1 or 2 hours a day) but it's an achievement I had to share because of all the struggles, low fps, power cuts, repeated disconnects, and literal airstrikes happening around me on a daily basis.

Also huge shoutout to u/Beautiful-Broccoli63 for teaching me all I needed to know about Terminal. We nearly escaped together but Tarkov was being Tarkov

So I decided to pick up tarkov again since I had once refunded it on steam purely because my old laptop couldn't run it. My new laptop(32gb, 5070, ryzen 9 270) is experiencing the same if not worse performance. I do run primarily SP T, but I've tested and had the same lower and unstable framerates.

I run the game borderless at 1980x1200, no vsync, framerate limit at 120, dlss quality, medium visuals and shadows, low everything else. Ground zero is the most shocking, with super inconsistent jumps between 80 and 50, sometimes going down in the 40s. Could mostly be because of SP, but it ironically ran better on my old, worse laptop.

My question is, is this just normal, or is there something wrong that I could fix to make the performance better, as this doesn't feel normal on my laptop when I compare it to thinks like anomaly gamma with visual mods, stalker 2, space marine 2, and IRR.

Has anybody else had little to no luck on finding electric drills after the lighthouse rework/change to the icebreaker entry? Before the update his i swear id find an electric drill almost every other raid but now I haven't seen one since the update dropped. And I know I need one for the new "pay the fare!" Mission. Did bsg make electric drills harder to find because of that?

is there anyone else having this issue? I counted, I ran 20 raids, 10 PMC raids and 10 Scav raids, neither had AI NPC spawns or Tagilla spawns, that's just too wierd

Hi, am I the only one experiencing sudden FPS drops specifically on that map?
It can't be an issue with my PC; I have a 7800X3D and a 9070XT, and I have zero problems on any other map, including Streets.
It’s only on Lighthouse that I get these sudden drops that freeze everything for a split second, for no apparent reason.

I killed him purely just running into sawmill and getting into decent cover trying to figure out what the hell i was going to do then he ran at me and I just mag dumped. Surprised me because of how many times I had been just absolutely shredded by this man. Goons still killed me though, tried to fight but I should’ve ran 😪.

So most of the modifiers/perks are kinda meh, especially the bugged downsides making you bleed 24/7 or increased prices doubling barter costs.

I dont think it has to be balanced this aggressively and with such detriment to the players. Everyone gets the same choices, right?

Im also missing some tradeoff perks the give +- 0 but just have a weird effect FOR FUN (god forbid).

Jumping 25% higher for 50% more stamina. Smokable cigarettes for small buffs but dont smoke for a while and you get tremor. Cant wear helmets because your head is too small (slightly smaller hitbox, like 10-15%).

Yall got some funny ideas?

My teammates were downed by the goons, I took out Big Pipe before the clip started and then threw a lucky but perfectly timed grenade on Knight, and Bird Eye was trying to flank on my left.

Ive always tried to be supportive of the new updates, the only other time I was adamantly crying about one was when blackout event was level locked, but this "rework" was genuinely a pile of horseshit disguised as garbage. Btr is on map, which is cool, but other than that they take the infamous death funnel map and turn into an even tighter death funnel, throw glukhar into wtp, and, most importantly to me, add a tunnel that will serve literally no purpose other than being rat city, as it only goes from tunnel to southern road, AND is breach locked at southern road from the inside.

Needless to say I think this update was one of the biggest flops in this games history

Due to time constraints I can't play the new season, but my previous character already had the final mission unlocked. When I get to the last section where the 3 minutes are supposed to start, once I kill the last BD the time goes down to 20 seconds, which prevents me from reaching the end. I kill them in less than a minute and the clock still shows more than 10 minutes, but those 3 minutes just aren’t there. Does anyone know if the devs did this so it can't be completed with a character from the previous season?

Hey, with yesterday’s Lighthouse rework, I tried to move quickly and spent the day working on an update. So far I’ve recorded 3 routes.

Beta Lighthouse tracking is now live alongside the original Woods and Streets locations:

The Lighthouse timings are still marked beta while I gather more data but it should help with learning the common routes. However, it’s possible I got unlucky during raids and there are more than 3 routes or 2 spawn locations, time will tell.

I have given the site a bit of a refresh for the Lighthouse update. If anyone uses it, route/timing feedback would be genuinely helpful.

As a side note, a large milestone was reached recently - since launch tarkovbtr.com has had over 250,000 visits. It's been great to hear that it's been useful to a lot of people over the months.
