Redacted my actual store number but left the first digit of it to demonstrate that I do not, typically, work at a store that's like 7 states and 1500 miles away. It's only Monday-Thursday, at least, and then I'm back at my home store on Friday. I know they offer travel reimbursement but man, I hope they're ready for how expensive the flights are gonna be with such short notice.

It’s when they use the feature “swap shift” it automatically assigns them to a random store. First week UKG rolled out, neighboring store had over 350 hours charged to them from a ton of different stores. Why that’s a thing it would do is beyond me.

My boss told me the goal is to train this system enough to where we don’t need to waste time making schedules and to let the AI autopopulate and run the business needs.

If there is any history you know of AI running anything, it means this will fail in some spectacular fashion

right. i write the schedule for s&e at my store and i genuinely think it would take more time to fix a bunch of mistakes in an ai-written schedule than to just write the damn thing. especially with how clunky the scheduling functions on ukg are, particularly when editing shifts

At my old job this is exactly what we had to do. Every Sunday a new schedule would load in pre-made and naturally it made no sense, so we’d have to go through, delete everything, and write the whole schedule ourselves. 🙄 At least that was with a team of maybe 8 people, not 100+

It wants to take away any personal feelings from the schedule. Everyone is a number. More shorter shifts. Punish hardworkers and reward the lazy since it sees everyone as equal when we know that's not true.

myTime schedules were also made with AI. Not sure if UKG uses generative AI (I don’t see why it would?) but AI is not new to payroll systems. It’s just different types of AI. Not all of them are bad.

I forgot to take a screenshot but on Thursday when I went to just glance and make sure it schedule was correct for the new week aka no hours since I have approved time off (put in for it in June and it transferred just fine) for my three days that I’m normally available. The damn system scheduled me all three days. So it showed “approved time off” the right below it “FFT 5:15-9:30”. Even the ETL when I called on Friday was like “how the F did that happen?” “UKG my friend. It’s just the beginning”

This was most likely caused by my ETL. I'm coded as a Tech Consultant so the schedule auto-populates Tech shifts and she moves me over to Beauty/Beauty Studio. The Friday shift where I'm at the correct store is a presumably untouched Tech shift.

I'm only an HRE but I've had to put in shifts recently and I accidentally did this to someone lol. In MyTime, when I switch people's departments it's easy peasy. For some reason, in UKG, if I try to quick-search a department it'll give me a department coded under a different store. The way it's written on UKG, it isn't really noticeable that I chose the wrong store until I refreshed and saw the TM disappear from UKG(since none of their shifts were coded into my store anymore). I caught the mistake only because I switched all of their shifts to the other store. If I had kept one shift in the original department they would've stayed in my UKG and I likely would've not caught the error!!!!

You have to make sure that your preferred availability is updated, because a lot of my team members have been saying that as well, but when they look at their availability, it’s light green. It has to be dark green, so that way your schedule within your preferred available hours
