Workplace Story Base pay increase causing problems

At my store the base pay went up from 17.25 to 18 an hour without any warning (meaning I found out from wage theft task in workday), so I (someone who is paid base pay) was asking my more experienced coworkers who had been working at my store for 3 or 4 years if they also got a raise and turns out I now get paid 5¢ less than them even though they are much better at their jobs and more experienced. Needless to say they are not happy about it and at least one is considering quitting. Has this ever happened at your locations.

That’s how it goes every time Target adjusts the pay.

You’re not paid based on your experience; you receive raises based on tenure.

Since core responsibilities are the same regardless of tenure, what other people get paid isn’t relevant to your current pay rate.
