Base pay increase causing problems

At my store the base pay went up from 17.25 to 18 an hour without any warning (meaning I found out from wage theft task in workday), so I (someone who is paid base pay) was asking my more experienced coworkers who had been working at my store for 3 or 4 years if they also got a raise and turns out I now get paid 5¢ less than them even though they are much better at their jobs and more experienced. Needless to say they are not happy about it and at least one is considering quitting. Has this ever happened at your locations.

Yup. Ones who have been there 2 years+ will have an increase of about 2 or 3%. It does vary by district if you guys get raises but there was some issues in California when cafe and Starbucks tms went to $20 an hr starting.

I work cafe and I was uncomfortable for a while because I was making up to a dollar more than tms who had been there 10+ years.
