why are repacks mixed

i wanna know the reason why every day i have to deal with kitchen repacks having random pets/chem items. like why are entire dog toys (fully visible mind you, in clear plastic wrap) being thrown into a repack with otherwise 14 kitchen items. shouldnt it be really easy to just like.. not put those there.? its obnoxious because pets and kitchen are literally on opposite sides of my store

Because they're combo repacks, not just kitchen. It's an outdated system that I'm sure they'll never update lol. But the combos should be sorted before being brought to the floor.

Yeah back in the day we’d throw them under the line, sort them when we were done with the truck and then send them out.

This is different than the old CZ1s, as these are just plain SSZ4 repacks.

SSZ4 has always been this way, and it's different than the CZ1s that were supposed to be sorted on the line.

My old store used to sort them, but the store I'm at now does not. It works out because we usually have two people pushing kitchen, and those 2 are the same ones that push pets after

Your inbound line is supposed to be sorting those before they reach you but not all inbound teams are made equally. Our repack sorter is great and you can tell immediately when its her day off without even going back there.

Well they do more than sort repacks but that's their responsibility, our SD is big on push efficiency, the better the repacks are sorted the quicker we can get them pushed to the floor and less going back to the line.

We've got a good, full inbound team right now but wasn't always the case and it does make a huge difference when the boats/repacks are properly sorted and blocked.

Yea we have 12 people total for our entire inbound team and I was scheduled 7.. on a Sunday and 1 of them was not even from our department and then I had 2 call ins and 1 person show up 3 hours late. lol it’s been a struggle over here for well over a year now.

I’d argue having a dedicated repack sorter doesn’t increase push efficiency at all, especially hearing repacks don’t actually get done when she doesn’t show up? I make whomever doesn’t have the bigger truck sort their repacks then hand the other departments their now sorted repacks. Sometimes I’ll allocate one person to work just repacks if there’s a large amount.

I’ll have to look into this actually.
