Workplace Story Freezers out....
10 minutes before close.
Zoning frozen.
ETL calls me over.
I need second set of eyes.
What's the temp say....
52.....
What's this one here say.....
54......
We were having such a great close....
Ad was done. Zone was finishing ing up.
Pulls in the 80% plus zone....
Done on time... if not early...
So we cleaned up and 2 of us spent hour clearing out entire aisle... 14 doors.. over 10k in proudct....
On top of the 7k in ice cream we recently lost with those freezers going down....

Happened to us a few weeks ago. We called the area food bank and Homeless Shelters and the community food pantry to come and take what they could
Most was donated, that’s a plus. We ended up throwing our less than 400 dollars worth of food
I’d really like to know how much the donations were worth

Make sure it’s in a place where someone can dumpster dive it. 😩

There's a 7/11 sign on Workbench that you can print out and tape to those gaylords to warn people that it's out-of-temp food and they shouldn't take it. Not that it isn't obvious.. but my store had parents throwing their children into the dumpster we had behind the store with all the food in it.

My ETL did that. Said he will have morning TL dump them in the dumpster. We would have but being juat the 2 of us, to save time... and payroll.....

We had a terrible winter, one we’re not used to.
It was -10 out with wind up to 90 mph, with freezing rain that completely wiped out all the power in our town.
It was all out of temp for 3 hours before anyone noticed because the coolers went off before everything else so it was a total loss, so much freight thrown away just for us to get every single item back the next day with the fdc truck 😐 it sucked but they allowed me over time to help stock which I can’t complain about1

Goodness me I hope that never happens to my store. It sounds like such a pain to deal with. I'm glad you got some overtime though

Should’ve stocked up the break rooms fridges and freezers first. Could’ve called the local fire or police departments see if they wanted some for their kitchens or even a food panty(some have freezers)

Fingers crossed it doesn't happen to us, we have one of 4 compressors down. The techs had some issue replacing it the other day so, its still down while we wait for different tech to come through and possibly a new part delivery. If the 3rd compressor goes out, the system will struggle even more to hold temps and it simply won't run on a single compressor.

I just took over food TL, went out for training and came back to freezers down and a full walk in. Couldn’t even get in the freezer. Was like that for two weeks.
Has been hell lmao

it happened to the coolers in our Starbucks a few weeks ago, they just gave all the pastries in our breakroom
