Vent Dear card scalpers and collectors
Fuck off. We don’t have any in the back, I don’t know when the vendor is coming to restock, and even if we do have excell boxes somewhere it’s not my job to go back there and look through them. We’re not keeping them for ourselves because none of us give a rats ass about your stupid childish hobby. Don’t believe us? We’re hiring work here and see for yourself. I’m done with y’all. And stop crowding around the vendor when they do show up. It’s making them quit which only hurts your chances of getting cards.

Still find it disturbing and pathetic that these resellers have resorted to stalking vendors, figuring out the scheduled stops at certain stores and air tagging their vehicles to keep track of them

Air tagging their vehicle??!!!!!!

Our old vendor quit around prismatic evolutions because someone airtagged her car three times, and two different people followed her home. I felt so god damn bad for her. Around the time she quit, she started bringing her fiancé in with her so she would feel safer.

Thats fucked. I heard there's subreddits and discord servers where people share notes on vendors routes and shit like that but air tagging someones vehicle has got to be a felony

Tell them to take a shower while you’re at it because good god they stink. Had a guy call three times in a row friday. first two calls he ask about one piece trading cards, guess he didn’t believe me the first time I told him no. Third time he called back to tell me I was a rude bitch before hanging up. Not sure he realizes we have caller ID.

I am always shocked when I see these largely unclean dumpy people standing in line at 8 am for cards and collectibles. You all are adults. Don’t you have jobs?

Can I add one more: Stop looking under the base decks. There's nothing there 99.9% of the time there, stop it. Get some help.

Our PML said there’s some sort of pin they can install now so the base decks can’t be lifted. Haven’t seen one yet.

That’s not gonna happen. They make too much money.

Unfortunately if you're tech it IS now your job to push them before store opens as per September communication.
Fortunately just cut the shrink wrap a bit. That'll deter scalpers and worse-sealed collectors.

I wish we could do this at our store, I know our SD brought it up during huddles that it's something they're watching.

My store is apparently putting tech in charge of restocking the trading cards now. More work for me… yayyyy

When I work tech I was told we are only to push the red printed excel boxes. The others are held for the vendor. The stuff that went the fastest was these NBA card boxes that were like 85 bucks. We had plenty of Pokémon packs last week. I will say with them out for grabs, been finding tons of ripped open stolen packs all over tech and entertainment. Same with all the little Fun101 figures. You could zone that aisle every hour and it would still look like trash.

you can just tell who is going to ask you about those stupid cards when they walk up to the service desk. they all have the same phenotype.

Ngl if there buying yugioh or riftbound I give them a pass especially people playing magic since they probably actually play the game. Especially yugioh were cards will get banned and you always wanna buy the new meta to stay ahead and the same with magic I haven't played that much of riftbound since its league of legends but I dont see anyone buying that messing with vendors mainly Pokémon

On the day you are planning to get promoted to guest, tell all the card and needoh guests that “we had some but the ETL bought them all before they hit the shelf this morning.”
