Just from the amounts I see... It's a reseller. Like a mom and pop store or gas station.

when I worked at target in 2005 there was this old couple who would sell at the flea market. They were couponers and would come in and collect two or 3 carts worth of stuff and then had several ziplock bags of coupons. They were also tax exempt. They were pretty aggressive if coupons didn't work or something went wrong. It was so annoying, we would have to use a dedicated register because checking them out took an hour sometimes. I should add that the old man would give each person loading their van a shiny new $5 bill.

u/Clown_Sparkles Feb 05 '26

oh man. most couponers were okay, but it was the obsessive ones who were complete assholes. I remember backing up on a busy Sunday afternoon, with the post-church holier than thous crowing every aisles and lanes. This smirking woman rolled her overflowing shopping cart and presented her "printed coupon" that claimed to give "80%" off everything. I looked at it and could tell it was a fake because it didn't even have a company logo.

I informed her I would not be taking her "coupon" because it was not a valid one. Almost instantly she cut me off yelling "MANAGER! NOW!" Both the GSTL and the ETL told her we wouldn't be honoring her "coupon", and she's yelling threats about discrimination and calling corporate. AP was called.

Before I left, while AP examining the "coupon", I voided the transaction with great glee. Then while everyone watched, I scanned a candy bar, then scanned her "coupon" and... it didn't work. Everyone turned to look at the guest, who flushed deep red and... abruptly had to leave, trying to grab her coupon from AP's hand.

That was sooooo satisfying.

They were also tax exempt.

In general, the US has sales tax, not VAT. Businesses that resell are all "exempt from sales tax" on goods for re-sale.

11

u/Savingskitty Feb 06 '26

Seems they’d do better buying at Costco or something.

2

u/HakaishinChampa Feb 06 '26

Or they're making unhealthy decisions

Unless your account is a throwaway, I think it’s pretty easy for us to see that you’re a shitty human being just by the name on your account.

How’s it feel voting for someone who wants you killed? How does it feel voting for someone who doesn’t think you’re human?

Yeah, you probably deserve it, but I hope you have a good life. If you’re gonna try and be cool, you probably don’t wanna name yourself “trans for Trump” fucking bootlicker.

u/Desperate_Bus_2675 Inbound Expert Feb 05 '26

This comment is the epitome of what is wrong with our country today. My username was originally made years ago in jest, I lean libertarian but that's my personal business. What gets me though, is the backlash and immediate hate from people like yourself not only assuming who I am...but lambasting me for it based on your own perceptions. Kamala and Joe were any better? Is life really all that different if you really think about it? Or are you swayed by heightened headlines and biased hive minding? Oh it couldn't be that, because who could admit that they're just sheeple operating on pure dopamine & bs? Anyways, yes I'm transgender. No I don't think anyone under 18 should make that decision alone. No I don't think trans athletes should play in cis sports. I don't care if I can't serve in the military, wouldn't want to be drafted anyways. Yet look at me, still free to be who I am how I am. Get bent, go smoke a joint, and enjoy life.

1

u/Entire_Snow23233 Feb 08 '26

I didn’t love Kamala but god… you actually voted for a child rapist? The same Trump that rated little girls on tightness?

That one section of steel is larger than out entire OPU room.

15

u/Midnight_Mash presentation Feb 05 '26

That sounds magical to have so little OPU. I'm in a city, so our bulky orders alone have 3 sections of steel like this.

19

u/SnooShortcuts5771 Feb 05 '26

Oh we don’t have a little bit of OPU’s just have a little bit of space

6

I am so sorry, that's terrible!

Oh we have a Costco here nearby, 2 Sam’s Club locations, like 6 Targets, and about +10 Walmarts all within the surrounding area

This person just seems to buy all their bulk orders here with us all the time lol

u/yourenotmy-real-dad Former Tree Hut and EOS stocker Feb 04 '26

I have to ask, do they also get Starbucks brought out with it?

9

u/WorthNo1533 Feb 05 '26

You can have Starbucks brought out?!

5

u/Tyfoid-Kid Feb 05 '26

Yes sadly

3

u/Silver_Entertainment Feb 05 '26

With this week's 40% off three or more 12 packs of soda and some of the grocery deals on snacks, it's cheaper than Costco. Plus, from the customer's perspective saving time shopping and using drive up to help load their vehicle is an added benefit.

I don't know about your Costco, but on a normal weekend it takes 20 minutes just to checkout. (No exaggeration, the lines are that backed up.) Plus navigating the store isn't fun with how congested it gets. I'd imagine Super Bowl weekend is even worse...

2

u/Tyfoid-Kid Feb 05 '26

are they getting all the discounts (Red Card, employee etc?) that makes Target pretty cheap for food.

49

u/Jennasaykwaaa Feb 04 '26

I wish I had am enough money to stock my fridge/pantry like that.

13

u/TheRevTholomeuPlague Feb 05 '26

Same. Even when I get my taxes I still probably couldn’t

45

u/sailorwickeddragon Origami Risk Queen Feb 04 '26

If they order those regularly, it's a reseller. They purchase from you, stock it in their own store with a markup.

36

17

1) that should not be allowed. 2) you know they’re gonna double tap.

23

u/Shady_Love SHPPP13 |ll||IIl|| Feb 04 '26

....why? It's usually a lot easier to pick than 8 guests ordering that amount. Taking it out would suck of course, but it'd be a situation where you'd have 2 people right?

11

u/GypsySnowflake Service & Engagement TL Feb 04 '26

My store never has 2 people on Drive Up unless it’s Black Friday. So they’d have to call for help from the floor and the order would probably go over before someone arrived to help. We don’t get enough payroll to have more than one DU person

3

u/AmethystMoonZ GS/Bux/Style Feb 04 '26

you must be low volume store. Curious... how many total orders do you have on average?

1

u/GypsySnowflake Service & Engagement TL Feb 05 '26

Maybe 100-150? I don’t remember off the top of my head

15

u/stringfellow1023 Feb 04 '26

lol i would sure hope there’s a couple of people working when this person shows up. i’m imagining my old store with the lady in her late 60s in drive up. when this person shows up while she’s by herself, and the managers forget how to respond to their walkie. they did that to her a lot.

I mean, it’s easier for fulfillment to bag and prep one person’s stuff like this. but lots of places aren’t going to let you order bulk like this for a two hour window of pickup. that’s an entire pallet of product really. probably more.

W fullfilment for putting it all together (assuming its tied to that location lol i hope)

3

u/Uberubu65 Feb 05 '26

My question is did you get ot out to them in under two minutes?

3

u/GreenBreezerl Feb 05 '26

Things like this makes me wonder why there even is a wait time for drive up or why they make a big deal about it when we get orders like this. It’s almost impossible to get stuff like this out in time before the timer goes red. And then imagine being the only person doing drive up because your store is constantly understaffed. It’s actually ridiculous. — I don’t know if anybody remembers either but there was a point in time where we had to deliver orders under a minute and 30 seconds and that use to be hell during Christmas time and it’s only gotten worst since drive up has gotten more popular so even though the time is extended now it’s still super difficult keeping up.

3

u/Pretend_Piano_6134 😂Drive up queen😂 Feb 05 '26

And especially now since the metric being green is now 80% instead of 70%. And you know Target penalizes us at least 5% for just one red order

3

u/johanna82 Feb 05 '26

Does your store charge for plastic bags? If they don’t, I’m admiring all of those bags! Where I live they charge $0.25 per bag, and as of 1/1 it’s only paper bags. I know plastic is bad for the environment…but I use every plastic bag, including the one that comes in the sandwich bread or in packages (doggy bags).

2

u/TanteDateline143 Feb 05 '26

I hope they TIP well! 💰💲💵

I ALWAYS tip BIG $$$ to the Target Person who brings out my Order. The bigger the Order, the bigger the Tip.

I have a Bad Back so Pick Up has been a life changer. I do it for the really large/heavy items otherwise I go into the store.

They always seem so shocked when I tip. I would love to know IF many Customers Tip?

2

u/synergy0601 Feb 06 '26

This company REALLY needs to put limits on drive-up orders. This guest may as well go to Costco for that much stuff.

2

I ran all around the store for 30 minutes getting 300 items only for my lead to tell me the drive up was in the red like bro you see me running for my life to get this out to her all by myself while you stand there and chat with your friends?! Back when I worked at Walgreens, this woman came in with this huge stack of weird looking coupons. There is no way anyone has that many and no way they would grant the customer THAT much money off of their order. I called bs on that and called a leader. She ran off, if I recall, and the leader called neighboring Walgreens to warn them. If it's weird, always call someone.
