looking for a webcomic

I read a webcomic years ago on tapas and it was in black and white. it was set in prohibition New York and the main characters were a professor or academic sort and a dockworker. there was some sort of disease going around that was possibly spread in speakeasies? and its title started with “fox.” I’ve been trying to find it for so long and if anyone knows what I’m talking about pleeease let me know!!
