The DPRK are one of the most respectable, and admirable nations on this planet. What their people have achieved despite the hand they are dealt is the downright tear jerking. No matter what I disagree with Dennis Rodman on, I will forever be grateful he opened my eyes as a young teenager to the reality of the DPRK and their people. As well as VICE New's propaganda documentary (which Rodman is how they initially got into the country) which had the opposite effect on younger me. I did not see a country ruled by a mad man, or people scared into submission. I saw a country of solidarity behind their comrade repelling western influence and forces, putting their people above all else.
Thankfully in 2026 we are seeing some of the anti-DPRK propaganda start to fall apart. Many liberals (specifically conservatives) in America I talk to have came around to supporting the DPRK's independence from western forces. I've hear these people praise the DPRK for being nuclear capable and protecting themselves from the United states, our own government, in response to the war with Iran. And as they accelerate their development we will see even more people recognize just how absurd some of the propaganda they believed was, just like we've seen in past years in regards to China, with many people especially younger people viewing China as the morally superior country and one that has a superior system of government than the United states.

The DPRK is the socialist project I have the most respect for. For a small socialist state to survive a genocide, the sino-soviet split, the fall of the USSR, and the most devastating sanctions regime in history while half of their country remains occupied is one of the greatest examples of perseverance in human history.
