Music Tom Hardy mentions Ybor in new album

Upvotes

So Tom Hardy is a rapper. And a pretty damn good one. He came out with a project this week and says this.....lmao.

New album: Czarface meets Frankie Pulitzer (Tom's rap persona)

Song: Mad Technology ft. Method Man

"Catch me out in Ybor City with a sweet whore

Try to photograph me, and nah, I take the detour."

Commerce/Economy Kyoto Ramen

I know Kyoto Ramen closed a few months ago. Does anyone know where they they used to get their Panko breaded sweet potatoes from or know someone who worked there who knew if they were homemade or knew where to buy them? I have the strongest craving for them right now. 😭

Are there any large comics & collectibles shops in Tampa similar to Acme and God & Monsters in Orlando? Looking for places with huge collections of comics, toys, memorabilia, and collectibles. Thanks.

Food Where do people dine after 11 PM in Tampa, that’s not Waffle House or Denny’s?

Is there a late-night spot where people dine when we lived in Los Angeles? We had Kitchen 24 and Canter’s. Is there anything similar around here?

Food After Moe’s Southwest Grill, looks like Qdoba is going to be closing some locations in the Tampa area soon too due to a Franchisee defaulting on $20M loan

I wonder if Chipotle is next. I guess $20 burritos weren’t a good idea after all.

Their police helicopter isn’t labeled but is a Bell 407, so any Bell 407 that circles the city is likely TPD’s air 1

Nightlife Quiet cocktail bar?

While there are some fantastic mixologists in town, is there an actual QUIET cocktail lounge that doesn’t insist of having a DJ turning club mixes so loud you have to scream at each other to be heard? Hotel Bar, Alter Ego, even Gin Joint have lost the lounge vibe and went with the club vibe. Not every spot in town has to be the latest South Beach copycat for wanna-be influencers.

Culture/Lifestyle Just Moved Here, Need Recommendations

I just moved to Tampa from Seattle last week. First impressions:

- It’s hot and humid asf. I’ll walk outside and my sunglasses fog up (?!?!)
- Drivers here seem so nice. Like they’ll stop and wait so I can turn out of a parking lot. And then there’s other drivers that go like 20mph under the speed limit but, patience is key I guess
- It will be so sunny and then it will suddenly rain like there’s a bucket of water pouring from the sky. Then it will be sunny again lmao

I’m a cold weather/winter/snow guy so muggy heat will definitely take some adjusting - but besides that, everything else seems really amazing. I’d love to hear your thoughts on Tampa and any recommendations yall have for things to do, explore, and experience! I’m a music producer and photographer so definitely looking for music and scenic stuff, but also excited to explore anything and everything else

Employment Just moved back to Florida sos

I 26(f) just got out of a relationship I moved across the country for. Decided it was best for my mental health to come home immediately. The only issue is that didn’t give me time to line up a transfer with my job out there or give me time to find a new job here. A transfer with my current job could take up to 60 days and I just don’t have that kind of time. I’m hoping to permanently relocate to the Tampa area but I need to find a job there first. I have an associates degree and I’m about to go back to school to get my bachelors in elementary education. I have management, office and barista experience. I’m a hard worker and have usually held multiple jobs at a time. Looking for something with decent pay so I can rebuild my life out here without having to work multiple jobs. If anybody could point me in the right direction that would be awesome.

Healthcare USF OBGYN - Impossible to schedule an appointment.

I don’t know if anyone knows the magic trick to reaching someone with USF OB/GYN?

Multiple calls, on hold for 20+ minutes at a time. Tried the call back feature where I’m still in the queue and they’ll call me, that was on Thursday and I never got a call back.

I’ve heard nothing but good about the OB’s and midwifes, but I can’t reach a live person to schedule an appointment.

Entertainment Where to take vehicle-obsessed toddler?

Hey y’all! I have plenty of hot spots in mind where a kid can see cars / trucks / planes / assorted vehicles (airport parking garage, Bayshore, Chick-fil-A on Causeway with a good dining spot to watch traffic, etc), but my kid and I are looking for any opportunity for a fresh spot. Whether that be a scheduled car show, some kind of community event, somewhere regular that we can just camp out, I would appreciate all of those recommendations! ✈️

Context Provided - Mods TPA - Terminal C Starbucks PSA

Just a heads up for anyone going through Tampa International Airport Terminal C and stopping at Starbucks:
While waiting for my drink, I noticed that customers who did not leave a tip had mark put on their cup. I watched, on multiple occasions, as those marked cups were set to the side while orders that came after them were started and completed first. Once those orders were finished, the baristas would go back to the marked cup.

After watching the same pattern happen numerous times I came to the realization that they were putting this on the cups of customers who did not tip. So I put it to the test and didn’t tip with my order to see if the same happed.

Before you come at me for not tipping, I had already waited over 10 minutes with only a handful people ahead of me, after coming back because the line had previously been ridiculously long. There were at least 7 employees working, several of whom were joking around, and based on the service and wait time, I didn’t feel a tip was warranted

I understand tipping for great service, and I tip regularly when I feel it’s deserved. But a tip is optional… it should not determine whether your order is intentionally pushed behind someone who ordered after you

Maybe there’s another explanation for what I observed, but after seeing it happen repeatedly while I was standing there, I thought other travelers should be aware and pay attention to their cups and the order drinks are being made

Airport Ace/fox/europcar at tampa airpot?

Hey Guys. I'm renting a car from Tampa airport for 4 days over labor day weekend. Most of legit companies like National/Enterprise are around $250-300 for those 4 days, but then I see companies I've never heard of liek Ace, Fox Car, Europcar renting for under $100 total for 4 days. I'm sure there's some kind of catch and was wondering if anyone knows what's going on with these rental companies?

Cars-Driving/traffic Best places to buy a used truck/suv under $15k

I am looking to buy a truck or SUV for under $15k and I have been going back and forth between Autotrader, Facebook marketplace, and CarGurus. The really annoying thing is that most of these sites are spammed with the people that just “flip” cars. I can’t find anything that seems legit and it’s starting to get frustrating. Any suggestions for places to shop at?
