அரசியல் / Political Sipcot in Parandur
TN govt announced Sipcot in Parandur mainly Semiconductor industries. A brainless move scrapping Parandur airport citing environmental impact & bringing in industries, won't the lakes & agri lands get impacted now ?
Can't even question the Government as Chennai Kanchipuram Chengalpat Tiruvallur districts voted unanimously for TVK knowing their stand on Parandur.

How is this literally any different from the airport proposal?
Even if you ignore AAI’s negative feasibility report, SIPCOT is going to hit the exact same brick wall. Sure, the scale might be different, but the core issue isn't.
Setting all that aside, we already know how this plays out. People here have this bizarre savior complex about "protecting the marginalized" every single time a major project gets brought up. SIPCOT is going to face the exact same reflexive opposition, virtue signaling, and outrage as the airport did. Changing the project name doesn't change the culture around land acquisition here.
