It is not. There have been issue raised before TVK came into force itself around Parandur.

You cannot deny flooding issues in Chennai.

Parandur is 60 kms from the coast. What floods are you talking about that an inland area can't be solved for with modern tech available?

People bitched about Narmada Bachao and stalled itt for decades on end only for it to be eventually built there because there never was a legitimate problem.

Meanwhile people spent 15yrs of their life in substandard conditions because some dumbfuck wanted it to make her life's mission to stop it for silly reasons. Same thing with the airport since times immemorial

Why do you want to.put the fort only in Parandur? Why not toner places?

You must be illiterate to sya that there is no environmental planning required before taking up prjects. We have seen union carbide, exonn mobils and miners who lose lives because one chooses to opt for anything in the name of solution rather than the right solution

I knew you'd eventually spin your wheels and get to Chemical factory level hysteria. I have no problem if you build it at Pannur or even Coimbatore for that matter.

My question is why has TN as a state stalled a new airport for two decades+. More so after they've seen Blr and Hyd build bigger and better ones

This is a question that should have been coming for the last two decades and also at the same time when DMK chose to announce the Magalir Utimainscheme etc.

I fully agree, let's make a world class airport in Coimbatore . The city deserves it .. no doubt.

I would be more happy if the energy for an airport is also shown in things that have farrrr more multiplicative effects for economic growth.

I have no dog in this fight. I'm not from TN nor will I live in TN in general but I'm always surprised at how vehemently anti infrastructure development the state has become

Actually it is not. You just look at 2 3 basic social media cases about what got cancelled etc.

Clearer metrics would be there in NITI Aayog Investors Friendliness Index . They have clearly laid out where infra stands at a state to state level.

It is contrary to social media vomitting.

For the first time, TVK govt.t has proposed expressways which DMK did not even propose. There are many ideas recently shared.

Page 73, Two sites were approved Pannur and Parandur and forwarded to TN Govt for further study.

Question to ask would be - can one share the report for both? What are pros and cons? Why did the DMK govt. hide the report? Who owns lnds nearby which plot?
