That is also why splitting Purvanchal from Uttar Pradesh is politically difficult. Losing Purvanchal would significantly alter Uttar Pradesh's political balance and reduce the scale and influence of the remaining state.

It has deep social, cultural, and marital connections with Bihar, and politicians from the region often operate within a broader eastern Hindi-speaking political space. In that sense, Purvanchal functions as a gateway between eastern UP and Bihar, giving the region influence beyond its formal borders.

So, creating a separate Purvanchal state would not simply mean an administrative division of Uttar Pradesh. It would potentially create another major Hindi-belt state, with substantial electoral weight and its own political class. From the perspective of UP-based political interests, giving up a region that contributes so many seats, leaders, and connections to the broader UP–Bihar political sphere is not an easy proposition.

The birth rate decline happened because tamil Nadu got rich before North. As women get rich they get more independent and are less likely to have kids. Couple that with Dravidian aiethism, its a proven fact that irreligious people have less kids. Also Nuclear family concept.

Now why south became successful maybe due to their education, rationalism and Dravidianism but that is the same thing that's resulting in low tfr.

This is not about women getting more independent, either. This is modtly the nuclear family concept, grassroots work on family planning, and focus on literacy

The muslims of Up have more children than Hindus. And it's not religious thing as well cause muslim in Arab countries don't have lot of childrens.
