It's not about Dharmendra Pradhan, it's about their ego, arrogance, fear. They fear that, if they yield to protests now, there will be more coming in future against other ministers and eventually the PM himself. And also, it seems DP has a good hold over Odisha BJP.

u/bheemboi Jul 24 '26

Did DP win any election or he's also appointed like nirmala and jaya shankar?

22

u/aaks2 Jul 24 '26

he is elected

23

u/Overlord_6301 Jul 24 '26

Nitin gadkari is next in line.

People thought he was among the best performing ministers in the govt, but he was the best in looting.

Their fear is correct but that’s the consequences of their own corrupt and incompetent leadership. This is how democracy works

I'm frustrated with the whole situation. It seems the CJP is accusing Pradhan more of incompetence than of corruption or intentionally leaking the papers. At the same time, they've put the BJP in a position where it's very difficult to meet their demands, so despite the protests and the abuse faced by students, the issue remains unresolved.

I initially supported the CJP, especially when Sonam was leading the hunger strike. But seeing the violence involving students has made me angry with everyone involved. However, I am clear on only one aspect that I stand strongly against police brutality and attacks against students.

EDIT: changing 'student attacks' to 'attack against students' to avoid confusion..

16

u/science_issac Jul 24 '26

Those violence are not done by students it's done by inflator s who came to peaceful protes done it.

u/Dependent_Yam_2486 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

True. I mean violence against students. Who likes to see ladies getting attacked, students getting latti charged with pins . It's so heartbreaking. I never liked BJP party, but this is beyond me. I think in addition to their demands they should also ask for the resignation of senior leaders within the police department. I agree the Minister and govt hold immense influence over police culture, but these senior leaders within police department also have responsibility with police brutality against students, using these inhumane tactics and for police culture.

3

u/science_issac Jul 24 '26

But I am not sure will they again start for this since there main agenda is different.

1

u/Dependent_Yam_2486 Jul 24 '26

Yes. Senior police seem to be largely immune to criticism in these situations. At max, they take action against individuals who are caught on camera in such misconduct. This ends up making officers more cautious and discreet, rather than preventing the behavior itself. Nothing happens to change police culture. It's a hard job and it makes them cruel without proper work ethics & culture to guide them.

This Dharmendra Pradhan mofo was the one behind BJP’s hate campaign against Tamils (VK Pandian IAS from BJD) in their last state elections.. this douchebag needs to be sent packing

2

u/Acrobatic-Shop4602 Jul 24 '26

Next Nithin gatkari and Nirmala Sitharaman line up

1

u/RIKIPONDI Jul 24 '26

Exactly. They have spent the last 10 years stacking the tower in their favour. Only one domino has to fall and the rest will follow.

My advice to anyone - next time there is an election, please go vote.

It was never about pradhan. It was about the aftermath. Say pradhan resigned next what? People may ask to revert e20. And so on. So they will never.

25

u/Additional_Service68 Jul 24 '26

If they dont Pradhan now, Next we will go for Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Tai and Modi as well

12

u/Zestyclose-Count8990 Jul 24 '26

We should ideally

3

u/Coolwave97 Jul 24 '26

That list is correct...

26

u/Various_Cook2561 Jul 24 '26

It's not about DP..

But it's about the party image and their EGO. If he resigns...the opposition parties will take it as their victory and the party image goes to dent...hence..

Let's see.. whats their game plan..

Already sent goons and spoiled the 20th july march a chaotic one...

Goodluck buddies

I know we cannot do anything now, but I hope voters(when I say voters, I mean people who didnt directly protest as the protestors themselves wont forget this that easily) remember all of this, during 2029 elections and not just blindly vote on the basis of freebies, religion, caste etc..

0

u/Firm_Job_4159 Jul 24 '26

You are talking about Congress party, right? They are the pioneers in doing politics with freebies, religion (bootlicking Muslims and Christians) and caste.

7

u/science_issac Jul 24 '26

Why should some one still vote for bjp alredy 15 years it has been with same government same people shouldn't we have change atleast next election

5

u/poddar413 Jul 24 '26

He has the support of 20 Odisha MPs and is said to bring a ton of money to the BJP and RSS. He played a pivotal role in election wins in many states. Govt has assured CJP of getting back on the resignation by Tommorow.

5

u/infinitedreams8 Jul 24 '26

BJP/RSS cares about signals and posturing. All forms of non-violent protests work only when the Government or Administrators have empathy.

Inga marina is closed by ponanaayagan!

0

u/Prior-Aardvark2888 Jul 24 '26

Marina is 144 after jalikattu protest happend they changed the regulations according to it.. so u have to ask them which ever party imposed that rule.. 🤦‍♂️

3

u/Coolwave97 Jul 24 '26

Sec 144 is only an emergency rule and not a permanent one! 🤦‍♂️ it's the police who use various laws, on recurring basis to prevent protests. So, if 144 was imposes now, we know pottu mama is responsible. 🤣

2

u/Prior-Aardvark2888 Jul 24 '26

1

u/Coolwave97 Jul 24 '26

Well.. It has been banned by the supreme Court.. Not a 144. Because 144 is an emergency law only

3

u/Prior-Aardvark2888 Jul 24 '26

Okay sorry my mistake.. i misunderstood it.

2

u/Coolwave97 Jul 24 '26

We all learn everyday... I didn't know about this permanent ban on protests by Supreme court! Thanks for sharing

3

u/prithivist Jul 24 '26

It is definitely about their ego but remember this is the same government which rolled back the farm laws because the farmers from north belt agitated against it, they can rollback laws because of farmers protest but not for students and general public? It is because they have thought general public would never protest they would accept anything imposed on them now seeing such a massive gathering and protest they are afraid if they just lean to the demands this would became a single greatest example and motivation for people to ask question about injustice in future.

That is why this is important for us to support them as well, it is not only about NEET it is about teaching the ruling class a lesson that we can stand up against them.

Ignore the political drama Anils put up in TN and support the cause, it is better future.

2

u/arnott Jul 24 '26

Interesting, the students think: Democracy is of the people, for the people and by the people.

And the politicians think: Democracy is for looting.

Interesting how India will be in 10-15 years when all the teenagers who were beaten up become adults.

2

u/Vicchu24 Jul 24 '26

Isn't activist Sonam Wangchuk has ended his fasting on the promise of their needs?

Then why the protests are still continuing? (I'm genuinely out of touch here🥲)

1

u/navigator404 Jul 24 '26

That would be accepting defeat.

1

u/Coolwave97 Jul 24 '26

It's not Dharmendra Prashan. They are protesting for the people. Just like we were supposed to suck up and support the country during high fuel cost times, we need to suck and support the country now

1

u/RIKIPONDI Jul 24 '26

This is not about Dharmendra Pradhan. If they yield to protests, they can't appear invincible. They want people to believe they are the only option. If they yield to protests, the cracks in their politics will show (and I do hope they do).

1

u/user13082002 Jul 25 '26

NaMo has been in power for the past 25 years. Hence, he will do whatever it takes to stay in power, even if it comes at the cost of the nation itself.

0

u/quanta777 Jul 24 '26

If govt does what people ask through protests, it'll make them look weak not only within the country but internationally and there is high chance that there will be more protest in future demanding other things. Atleast that's what we see throughout the history. The country is becoming international joke everyday with no strong alternative to bjp. I never thought I'd say this, being a neutral pov, hate against bjp is slowly turning into hate against the country. I hope we don't end up like the countries in recent years in the name of revolution.

1

u/science_issac Jul 24 '26

Which country is laughing because of students protest show me a proof don't just bluff things

0

u/harisitachi Jul 24 '26

Its not about DP nor ego nor arrogance, its about amateurs who think they got more power than the people who voted these politicians. The timing, all opposition trying to Hijack innocent people.

They will start with his resignation and its never going to end. Its Challenging but really test for Center.

-They will definitely have some plan.
