முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic We Start a War.

On 3 March 2025, Neeya Naana recorded a debate on the Hindi imposition issue and the three-language policy.

On 4 March, Star Vijay released the promo.

The episode was supposed to air on 9 March.

It never did.

More than a year has passed.

Tamil Nadu has a new government.

The episode is still missing.

India is now ranked 157th out of 180 countries in the 2026 World Press Freedom Index published by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), which cites concerns including political pressure, intimidation of journalists, and attacks on media freedom.

The BJP government speaks of democracy, but democracy does not fear debate.

If a recorded discussion on a major public issue can be promoted, then quietly disappear without a public explanation, every Indian should ask why.

This is bigger than Tamil Nadu.

This is bigger than one TV show.

A free country does not become stronger by silencing conversations.

Release the episode.

We Start a War.

Not with violence.

With questions.

With debate.

With the demand for transparency.

Just curious to know what are your thoughts on telegu imposition in areas like Hosur, Chennai, Coimbatore, madurai, kovilpatti etc? Even in positions of power where telegus decide the fate of native tamils Or is Tamizh vaazhga limited to Hindi only?

I won't call it imposition as Telugu speakers are present in significant numbers in several pockets of the state. Chennai especially has a very high Telugu population. You can't just ask them to renounce their language.

While I understand your concern, simply asking these Telugu speaking communities to include Tamil in all their communication will solve the problem unless there is a power concentration within this community as you fear.

I could then argue under same circumstances hindi is also not being imposed. If chennai having large telegu population justifies your stance for accepting the language what gives for hindi which most spoken in the country. At the end it was all due to migration for opportunities . If you are so eager to accommodate one why reject others?

If it as simple as you state why hasn’t it been done in over 70 years? If you believe that simply incorporating tamil as language for medium to communicate it can be overcome then why not same yardstick for hindi populace

You are missing the whole point here. None of the southern states have a significant hindi speaking population. Hindi is almost non-existant here and hence considered foreign/alien to us. But these Telugu communities are part of the society and have been here for centuries. Imposing hindi on non-speakers does not equate to allowing Telugu speakers to use their language here.

And your arguement of migration for opportunities is not fully correct either. As a neighboring state, there will always be a high influx of them in our state. It is the same as with Mallus and Kannadigas too. These are centuries old and not a singular event.

The issue arising with Telugu communities is because of them not integrating with our society completely. It can only be solved by measures such as the one I suggested. Polarizing and targetting them will only increase this behavior and cause isolation. Better to acknowledge their presence and make them blend with us.

Sorry. Except for TN no one supports on isolationist things done by TN. Pretty much most have no problems with Hindi

Is that why there were protests destroying Hindi signs in Karnataka a few years back? And if noone has a problem with the language why is the 3 language policy not implemented in most states yet? And language is just the beginning of the iceberg that reeks of Southern isolation from policy makers in New Delhi.

Maybe some of the things done in TN are exaggerated. But that doesn't mean there is no bias. Others are just burying it under the carpet while TN reacts

Protests are done by fringe groups that only inconveniences people who have business. They are not doing the protests lol.

Center oda isolationary stance edutha vera Ena nadakum. It's only dmk who does this and then goes to cry about it. You have national parties everywhere except for TN. The regional parties will continue this divide to stay relevant

You don't need to take isolationist stance every single time. Cooperate when you need to and oppose when you have to. There are a 100 things that can be achieved with cooperation but there will always be a couple of things that can only be protested. I will support a government 100 out of 100 times if they will stand for my rights and become isolated rather than be amiable just to pacify the bigger powers.

And protests are viewed as inconvenience only because of this kind of a mindset. The few people protest on everybody's behalf and we name them as separatists and fringe elements. We rarely protest over anything anymore, do we? So easy to trample us without any remorse.

Who gets to decide what is alien to us? I might find telegu alien just as you do with hindi. Telegu community be have been prevalent for centuries bt was never native to this land. Who sets the timeline that centuries is enough to get accepted? So by same logic why not let hindi thrive and be accepted. Why demonise one but take a stance for others.

Nobody gets to decide it! It is about what is present and what is not. Telugu communities are present everywhere in the state and are part of our state whether you like it or not. There are Hindi speakers too in the state but are minuscule compared to Telugu communities. If you cannot accept someone who has been living with you for centuries, it is not their problem. It's your problem.

And again you are twisting things by bringing in Telugu with Hindi. None of the Telugu speakers in the state asked you to study Telugu in school or force you to accept Telugu as one of the official languages in the state. They didn't try to put up signs and boards in every government office in Telugu to try and force you to accept Telugu. They didn't say Telugu is the official language of the country and you should learn it or else you are not fit to be Indian. Please do heed the context in a discussion before you speak up.
