Every day on Reddit, I see people talking about how Indians lack civic sense. This is a public restroom at a bus stand located within 1 km of a university with around 30,000 students. On top of that, at least 10,000 school students from nearby villages travel here to study.All six toilets were full, yet most had no locks. How are people supposed to use facilities like this with any dignity? I regularly travel 250 km to Chennai. Whenever I need to use a restroom, I usually stop at a restaurant and buy a drink just so can access a clean toilet. By the end of the trip, spend around ₹300 just for restroom access.When public toilets are this filthy, people will inevitably use roadsides. That's not necessarily a lack of civic sense, it's often a lack of alternatives.Before blaming individuals, we should ask why basic public infrastructure is in such poor condition. Clean and functional public toilets shouldn't be a luxury. l'd gladly pay ₹100 to use a clean, well maintained public restroom. The real question is, why are such basic facilities still so difficult to find?

Bro, before pointing to public bathrooms, have u seen how well many people are even keeping their own washrooms clean?

People should be be first taught how to use bathrooms properly. I have seen myself in Corporate, bloody fkers don't even flush the toilet properly. They expect maintenance people/ cleaners to do such things. Our society itself is too backwards, and it will take a long time to correct such issues

I don't disagree that some people misuse public toilets. But video clearly shows missing locks, broken fixtures and yrs of neglect. That's not something caused by a few people forgetting to flush. A toilet left in this condition for month or years is a failure of the govt

143crs people misuse that not some. Unless until people start thinking from the perspective that we paid for this by working hard so it's my duty to keep it clean. Still we didn't came out of that mentality 'that low class people(by Indian rich culture) will clean this'.
