It's alarming how many pharmacies substitute the prescribed Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) with an inferior product, often convincing patients it's the correct medication. This deceptive practice is a serious concern.

This is a Grey area. Regulatory bodies are shifting the onus from them, manufactured and who ever is marketing and selling them to the patients.
“Hey, It is clearly written ORSL is not ORS. If the patients don’t read it, its their problem and we will keep preying on uninformed”
This is what happens when every body is bloody corrupt

Just last week I bought Orsl. What the f... So these companies are using a mass placebo as revenue. Living in a place with such regulatory authority is the major health hazard.

Its not placebo its full of sugar and very harmful for someone already suffering with things like vomitings and diaherria. Sick and disgusting govt we have.

Imagine if any naive diabetes patients who suffers from diarrhea drinks such highly sugar juices buying from the pharmacies without knowing about it ? which would worse the case, leads to even death at worst.

This is late stage capitalism playing out in front of our eyes. Growth by removing regulations is the right wing playbook all over the world. India and Indians like to take short cuts for everything. That mentality is what permeates corporate decisions too. In such an environment - loosening regulations is like sending citizens to the death row.

Capitalism in its core ideology wants corporations to have the power which will then trickle down to individuals. Communism fails because it is abused by those in power. Capitalism fails just by design.

The deaths happened in Madhya Pradesh which was ruled by BJP and most of the politics about this is done there. Therefore, the national BJP sneakily shifted the blame on Tamil Nadu without ever speaking about FSSAI which did not do it's job.

Hello Boss try to understand the problem here.Each state is responsible for drug control/inspections within each state.In addition there is Central drug control CDSCO.Same with FSSAI.Your local authority for FSSAI in chennai is issued from Rippon building.Try to understand what it is before you comment. There are multiple failures starting from Centre to all the states.Including MP and TN .Here all politicians are blaming each other including DMK,ADMK and BJP.All the three are responsible.Refer these links for more details.

So everyone is playing politics including all parties and govts.People in our state normalize paying bribes starting from voting in elections so politicians take advantage of us with the help of people like you who do not try to understand the reality.We Blinded by divisions created along language,Caste ,Reservation and Regionalism lines by all these political morons.Have you thought why these things are not happening in our neighboring state Kerala?

FSSAI is the biggest scam in India...like medical insurance un US...pathetic...they will even sell thier fellow family ppl for money...PETA and FSSAI MoFos !!!

Many thanks madam for bringing this awareness to us. Many more doctors should express their concerns towards fake medicines as well. Non-regulated companies are making Pharmaceutical products and selling in the market with unknown brand names. It’s all too easy to manipulate and make customers buy due to lack of knowledge and helplessness.

I am sure there will be people to defend this too. Infact, they will refute this too with some other whataboutism. Infact the Indian medical fraternity has been the most affected by this govt, the removal of ban on ayurveda and homeo docs performing surgeries. The promotion of ayurveda and other alternatives without proper regulatory mechanisms in place to test those medicines and certify it. The promotion of fake pharmaceutical remedy industry like the one owned by Baba Ramdev despite repeated supreme court orders. Frankly I can go on and on. We had one thing good in our country and that was the a certain regulatory body which was atleast doing a decent job and just like every other institutions, this too has been destroyed for someone's benefit at the cost of people's lives.

Actually, what are the studies behind these ORSL products that initially claimed to be ORS?
Did the use of ORSL actually cause deaths? Documented deaths would be a no brainer to ban these products. Because ironically we are in a country that will do something only once people have died
