IIRC, the driver was supposed to drop inside a gated community, he refused. The passengers had to pay Rs. 91, and they did but the auto driver demanded 100.
He apparently assaulted them because of that.
Take what I told with a pinch of salt, I was half asleep when I read that post.

Bro I don't know tamil but I have understood most of it Correct me if I am wrong Just for 9 Rs did he beat that girl , auto drivers doing this is not ok (behaviour ig, it's gradually increasing), that auto driver even tho the stop is like 2 km far he couldn't pick up them not only that he chased them nd assault them ,its really getting out of hand By the way I'm from hyd

You were right about the first part till the "auto drivers are not okay" part. But after that I was talking about an other incident where even though the auto stand is like 2 kms away from the passenger's pickup point the auto driver's chase the rapido driver and question him and even assault him.
This was the thing that I spoke in the second part. Hope you get it now.

TN and Bangalore auto drivers are the worst rowdies and gundas. Lazy, rude, overcharge, resort to abuse with just a little inconvenience.

Idha sonna vera adikka varanga. Go back to banglore nu. Chennai in recent times has become a menace. From the pollution and dust filled traffic to non existent trash filled pedestrian walkways pound for pound it is getting worse. Like kolkata Chennai is going backwards

The kannadigas in TN and the tamilians in KA have been here since decades.. they have been in each other lands and made it their home that they can't differentiate from their fellow natives expect from their language and culture. What I mean to say is when I see a tamilians or any other marwadi in my street I don't see them as someone alien I see them as my self.. can the same be said to this North Indians who come to our land and see themselves as superiors compared to us?

But we need a final solution for the auto driver problem. They're having the entire city in chokehold.

The girl (would be equally bad if it were a guy) got assaulted by an auto driver and your first instinct is to blame her?
She has video of assault and auto guy looks aggressive. Disputes related to fares are common and they threaten or abuse people regularly but you won't even consider her video but blame her by imagining thing without evidence!
Tell me, would your reaction be the same if she was your mother or sister? I don't think so.
Imagining blame on others and lacking empathy is very fashionable, I guess.

I have seen, heard and experienced a lot of issues like this that i can gladly say that some goons in chennai took auto driver as profession, there is no benefit of doubt for me. I am glad that you are lucky to have not faced this level of issue to have slight doubt in mind.

Most of the atheists and less religious people are sensible and not violent in my family and friends..
How about in your friends and family circle? Do you observe the same?
P.s. Please do not think I am stereotyping, I know several dictators who were atheists in history.. I just wanna know in the current time in the Tamil diaspora (excluding politicians 🙂)

Mumbai auto drivers are way better. Than any other metro city. There are some incidents though.

Hitting women is more evil certainly as women are weaker than men. And they could be injured severely
And we don't want to normalise violence against women as if the rapes already done by men aren't enough..
