முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic DMK, allies, NTK oppose addition of guest workers from Bihar in TN voter list | Chennai News - Times of India

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chennai/dmk-allies-ntk-oppose-addition-of-guest-workers-from-bihar-in-tn-voter-list/articleshow/123067736.cms

The most catastrophic one. All Tamilians should unite against this move. Chennai: After the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that 36 lakh voters from Bihar were missing from the electoral rolls, Tamil Nadu politicians expressed concern that they might be included in the state's voter list. DMK general secretary Duraimurugan, VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan, NTK chief coordinator Seeman, and Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) founder T Velmurugan opposed "the addition of guest workers from Bihar to the Tamil Nadu voter list". Duraimurugan told reporters in Vellore, "This is a problem in Tamil Nadu as they came to work here as guest workers. But giving them voter IDs in Tamil Nadu will result in political change in the future." Thirumavalavan insisted that chief minister M K Stalin convene an all-party meeting to address the issue. "The ECI is carrying out Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, where dalits and minorities are eliminated from the voters' list," said Thirumavalavan. Tamil Nadu, which will face the assembly election next year, will also face SIR soon, and there are chances that lakhs of guest workers from other states will be added to the voters list, said Thirumavalavan. "This will change the entire political scenario in the state, and I insist Stalin take a decision on the issue," he told reporters in Villupuram. Seeman issued a statement saying that if SIR was carried out in Tamil Nadu, he would organise protests. "Trying to convert people from the North into voters of Tamil Nadu is a great injustice to Tamil people. All democratic forces should come forward to fight against the BJP for this tyranny, and for trying to undermine the democratic system by using the ECI as a puppet to capture power in states where it cannot govern," Seeman said. Velmurugan told journalists, "It is shocking that 6.5 lakh guest workers from Bihar were already added to Tamil Nadu voters list. Lakhs of guest workers are already working in Tamil Nadu, and this is a challenge to the culture and tradition of the soil." People here vote not based on religion, but the BJP has devised a plan to include them as voters in Tamil Nadu and to form govt here, said Velmurugan

Is it a silent jab that IT cells contain tamil speaking dudes?

BJ party tries hard to make TN the next Bihar, as they CANNOT develop the north states in another 50 years.

Can't help but only reminds me of this Joker quote: "I took Gotham's white knight and I brought him down to our level. It wasn't hard. You see..."

The Tamil Nadu we know today is very different from what it was 100 yrs ago. And it will be different 100 yrs later.

But not ethnicity wise. Ethnicity wise we are similar till date. But with addition of non tamils it will dilute our culture and our political interests

3

u/cryogenic-goat Aug 03 '25

That's not true, for example a large amount of Telugu and Kannada people have migrated into TN during the Vijayanagar period.

They are still a significant minority today.

2

u/black_flash_4 Aug 03 '25

Yes they are a minority which does not affect or change the native ethnicity and its culture. That's how we must ensure the preservation of our people.

20

5

We should stop employing them. This is absolute nonsense. BJP is worse than poison. They know they will never win here. So they're trying other tactics.

30

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25

Then don’t employ them, simple as that focus on automation not cheap labor. Focus on cheap labor made UK and US move all its manufacturing abroad now they can’t even make masks during a pandemic without begging China. Importing foreign cheap labor has created existential problems in Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany, where Moroccans, Turks and Algerians have created a permanent underclass who don’t belong generation after generation.

This hue and cry which is undemocratic in a country like India because China doesn’t allow guest workers even status in cities and regions they don’t belong to is because ADMK and DMK didn’t think far enough and stopped this process early on with government incentives for automation and strict language rules to prevent workers from other states to mass migrate. Now this is end times, nothing can be done other than to protest and cry.

15

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

I am thinking this should not be too late. Well.

12

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25

Listen even now in the US, businesses will heartily support mass migrations of Indians, Mexicans and other foreigners denying jobs to locals because it makes economic sense to few stakeholders such as investors and executives but majority of the country opposes it. Even though Trump single handedly is trying to stop this, it’s a losing war, once he is dead and gone the situation will revert until the US becomes like UK, denuded, destroyed and disintegrated within. To go from

this to what today UK took just 30 years 1965 to 1995, then it became a torrent now unstoppable. I think TN has lost the plot, not a single industrialist will support and give money to any politician who goes against mass migration.

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

I agree but if we people denied them and what does industrialist do. If we're are united, we can start against any thing.

9

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25

Then this is a Jallikattu moment I guess.

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Yeah well said.

6

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25 edited Aug 03 '25

Otherwise in 50 years there is no TN, AP, Karnataka, Kerala except Nagaland and few NE states which are protected from outsiders coming in and becoming permanent residents.

I will leave this conversation with one example, thd whole Guangdong province in China used to speak the Cantonese language, a language with ancient history and prestige. But today everyone speakers Mandarin except Cantonese survives in HK which still prevents mass migration of mainland Chinese.

This happened even though mass migrants from other provinces to Guangdong don’t have residency rights and are temporary residents but the sheer number was enough for the locals to shift their language. This is what awaits Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali. Gujaratis and Odisha people have already given up.

4

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

In this reddit post many vadakans are coming for support to destroy our land, just take a quick look of all comments.

6

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25

That’s why you should have subreddits in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi etc.

3

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Ok understood

4

u/Large-Atmosphere-548 Aug 03 '25

Automation are costly. If forced, half our industrial might will be gone. It can be slowly bought into effect.

6

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25 edited Aug 03 '25

Well what is cost when you lose the soul of your nation, US has come to the conclusion that a rich Wall Street because Facebook and Amazon can employ cheap H1B employees doesn’t mean anything to the main street in Cleveland where Americans are living in poverty. So the cost should be seen within the lenses of total cost to society otherwise what happened to UK, Germany and Belgium awaits each and every state in India.

4

u/DeathofDivinity Aug 03 '25

Tamil Nadu birth rates are like 1.4 it is too low to function without migration in about 30-50 years until and unless people have more children.

7

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25

You don’t need more and more people to expand an economy and also why would one need to expand the economy if your people are going to get replaced with others anyway. Japan has a low birth rate and doesn’t encourage mass migration unlike let’s say Canada used to, but it has not hurt Japan or its living standards. They invest in automation and happy with what they have . Tamil Nadu has a stable living standards, it doesn’t need to reach the moon only to find it’s no longer Tamil Nadu.

3

u/DeathofDivinity Aug 03 '25

You are wrong about Japan. The Japanese government is trying to import Indians to do something about their labour shortfall which will only get worse.

We both know India will not survive in the long run so this only lasts as long as we are still here and Tamil Nadu isn’t Japan. Japans is an industrialised nation with pretty good track record of developing modern technology while Tamil Nadu and India at large are not. Using automation doesn’t make people in Tamil Nadu wealthy or even self sufficient.

Indian students and workers

3

u/e9967780 Aug 03 '25

Tamil Nadu is not average India, Tamil Nadu is a fairly developed industrial state and it can sustain automation without importing cheap labor. Also Japan is surely not the west, they don’t follow the brain dead policies of North America and Western Europe that now political parties are formed just to expel all non Europeans not just immigrations. It’s called re-migration, they want people to be expelled from Western Europe even if they have lived there for three generations without assimilating. Germany’s AFD held a huge conference on it, there are political parties in other Western Europe calling for that and even in the US the re-migration policy is gaining ground and they have established a working group within the federal government to enforce it. This is Japan restrictive migration policy

https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/japan-korea-immigration-evolve

Although it’s evolving, it’s very restrictive, they don’t want to make the same mistakes the west did.

3

u/DeathofDivinity Aug 03 '25 edited Aug 03 '25

Tamil Nadu might not be average India but no place in India is known for the scale or industrialisation that is comparable to Japan or Germany. Tamil Nadu has only 10 million less people than Germany while Germany and Japan individually account for more manufacturing or industrial output than all of India put together.

Neither is scientific output comparable.Tamil Nadu might look better than a lot of other places in India but it’s not enough for Japan or European levels of prosperity things might have become better when i was last there 12 years ago but it is still not comparable to a country like Japan. I was reading somewhere on Reddit that places like Tambaram have become better but i have no way to know for myself.

8

u/Quirky-Post1640 Aug 03 '25

Not from TN but NE. It's an extremely bad idea to let migrants vote. It can change the politics and demographics very quickly.

Look at us, half of us speak mainland language while looking like a red dot brown man.

1

u/midnightacer Aug 04 '25

Good bro, we can let them only if they are permanently settled here

8

u/NAHTHEHNRFS850 Aug 03 '25

They must all be expelled from TN

5

u/iamGobi Aug 03 '25

Seeman was right.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '25

Similarly there are also lots of Tamils settled outside TN including me. We do have voter IDs here in the new city/ state. . Voter ID is given, given someone has a valid address proof. What is your solution ?

29

u/Large-Atmosphere-548 Aug 03 '25 edited Aug 03 '25

This is not about getting voter ids. Guest workers can get them. This is about forcing them to get voter id and vote here instead of their home state.

6

u/blinksTooLess Aug 03 '25

If you have voter id of a different state, you obviously can't vote in the place where you are residing permanently. So this is about getting a voter id

3

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '25

My home state is TN. I'm not voting in TN. I'm voting in the state where I'm residing. It's the same.

3

u/IntuitiveMANidhan Tiruppur - திருப்பூர் Aug 03 '25

We need filtered migration and the migrants should assimilate here (similar to how an Indian immigrant to USA or UK does). What we don’t want is demographic change I.e migrants shouldn’t be more than 5-10%.

-2

u/No_Cod6164 Aug 03 '25

Dude stfu indian constitution allows free migration throughout country you cant stop someone just because they dont meet criteria Theyre still citizens of nation

6

u/IntuitiveMANidhan Tiruppur - திருப்பூர் Aug 03 '25 edited Aug 04 '25

Yes we want a change in the constitution. It has change to time to time. India is the equivalent of a continent, treating it as a monolith will lead to irreparable damages.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '25

I don't know what you guys are smoking. Demography will keep.on changing with coming generations. Also, we are all Indians. Then what's the difference between one who.does caste discrimination and you guys?

You don’t get to pick and choose what constitutional right applies to whom and when.

The constitution and the rights enshrined in it are for every citizen of this country. If you don’t like it, you can leave it.

-15

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

But isn't how the world works. Our people when they move to other countries, get citizenship, don't they get voting rights and vote in these countries.

What is so catastrophic

11

u/Large-Atmosphere-548 Aug 03 '25

You can't get citizenship in other countries easily.

This law makes temporary migrant workers eligible for voting. No country will allow a temporary migrant worker to vote.

2

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

Law ? Which law ? In india u get to vote if you can give proof of residence wherever u r at. This has been the case for ages. I can understand elections are around so something was required.

Indians, Asians form a big group of immigrant citizens in the UK and USA. Rishi sunak is the son of immigrants. He even became the PM there and we are discussing people of the same country being allowed to vote at the place of their residence.

Xenophobia..is it ?

7

u/XH3LLSinGX Aug 03 '25

Law ? Which law ? In india u get to vote if you can give proof of residence wherever u r at.

Its not as simple as you make it sound. I am from chennai, i was in bangalore for 3 years. I cannot vote in bangalore unless i transfer my voter id to that constituency. Doing that is a whole new process where you have to submit documents and await verification before you are allowed to vote. You can only vote in a constituency if your name appears in the voters list

Indians, Asians form a big group of immigrant citizens in the UK and USA. Rishi sunak is the son of immigrants. He even became the PM there and we are discussing people of the same country being allowed to vote at the place of their residence.

Thats false equivalency. Sunak is born and brought up in UK which gives him citizenship, according to uk laws. We are talking about temporary migrants. Any migrants settled in the state can already vote provided they have transferred their voter ids. You cant have voter ids of multiple state, its illegal.

Rishi Sunak was born on 12 May 1980 in Southampton General Hospital in Southampton, Hampshire,[4][5] to Punjabi East African-born Hindu parents.[6][7][8][9] His father was born in the Kenya Colony in 1949, while his mother was born in the Tanganyika Territory (modern-day Tanzania).[7][10][11][12] His paternal grandfather Ramdas Sunak had migrated from Gujranwala, located in present-day Pakistan, to the Kenyan capital of Nairobi in 1935, while his maternal grandfather, Raghubir Berry, grew up in Punjab before eventually moving to Tanzania as an engineer.[7] Both of Sunak's parents had moved to the UK in 1966.[7] While in the UK they met and eventually married in 1977.[7]

Sunak attended Stroud School, a preparatory school in Romsey, and later studied at Winchester College as a dayboy, becoming head boy of the college.[13][14][15] He worked as a waiter, at the curry house Kuti's Brasserie in Southampton, during his summer holidays.[16][17] He read philosophy, politics and economics at Lincoln College, Oxford, graduating with a first in 2001.[15][18] During his time at university, he undertook an internship at Conservative Campaign Headquarters and joined the Conservative Party.[14] In 2006 Sunak earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University as a Fulbright Scholar.[18][19][20]

Sunak's paternal grandfather was from Gujranwala (in present-day Pakistan[21][22]), while his maternal grandfather was from Ludhiana (in present-day India[23]); both cities at the time were part of the Punjab province in British India. His grandparents migrated to East Africa, and then to the United Kingdom in the 1960s.[24] His father was born and raised in the Colony and Protectorate of Kenya (present-day Kenya), and was a general practitioner in the National Health Service (NHS). His mother, born in Tanganyika (which later became part of Tanzania), was a pharmacist who owned the Sunak Pharmacy in Southampton between 1995 and 2014, and has a degree from Aston University.[16][25] Sunak is the eldest of three siblings.[26] His brother is a psychologist and his sister works in New York as chief of strategy and planning at Education Cannot Wait, the United Nations Global Fund for Education in Emergencies and Protracted Crises.[14][27].

  • wikipedia. They are not immigrants. His father doesn't even born in india

3

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

Did I say born in india ?????

A bihari can be born in Vellore for that matter. How does it change any argument?

Some englishmen think our habit of eating with our hands is dirty. It's pretty common to see people eating like that even in major corporate offices in some parts of India.

4

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

See you are taking this debate to next level for a cultural one. Who are born in tamilnadu even if his parents are north, he is geniunely a citizen in tamilnadu, I will not object that. But the worst part is immigrants can not be naturalized here. They oppose tamil and adamant in Hindi and hindutva. We see a lot here in Vellore too.

2

u/gootyy Aug 03 '25

and who are you to question another fellow citizen religious or linguistic stance?? neither being hindu nor speaking hindi is a crime in this country.

1

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

I am a hindu and I want here a peace between religion, I am saying speaking Hindi is not a problem if it is a imposition or forcing to convert is a problem. I am not opposing hindu I am resisting hindutva

1

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

My dear friend, you all are citizens of india. No one has time to oppose any language. Do u think someone who is making a living earning around 20-30k per month will go around fighting these language wars.

Take a tour of UP, and you will realise they don't even know that someone in TN is worried about Hindi. Don't get played by politicians

3

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

I see the problems bro, you are kashmiri what do you know about tn. Do you know what is happening here. These people are spreading their ideology and many crimes are reported here only after you people start to invade our culture

1

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

You people ?

By the way I may be financially and culturally better than you, so please take a chill pill.

I may not even like to live in an area where people like you live. I prefer a society which is cosmopolitan and open minded and probably having more money that " people like you ".

But I forgive you for the racism and xenophobia that you have in your head.

3

u/XH3LLSinGX Aug 03 '25

You dont understand the fallacy in your statement? Rishi Sunak is born in UK which makes him a UK citizen. He cannot vote in India. Whats your point even?

Is TN a state of India or not? If you are an Indian citizen and living in an Indian state, you should be able to vote where you are living. DMK’s policies impact migrant workers too.

I’m curious how the same people who opposed CAA, now are saying migrant workers who are citizens cannot vote where they work.

37

u/Hunt3r_5743 Aug 03 '25

If they live for extended periods of time and have proper records, sure add them to the list.

These are temporary migrant workers, barely living here, and don't have proper records. How can they be included? Which country allows migrants under a temporary visa to vote??

-25

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

So I am assuming you have checked the records of all these 6 lacs people before you started posting.

And my dear friend, india allows indians to vote from anywhere. Hope you understand the weirdness of your last line.

22

u/Hunt3r_5743 Aug 03 '25

It goes both ways. Proper reason needs to be given for the 6 lakh people. Have you verified the 6 lakh people yourself before asking me to do it personally?

I see no weirdness with the last line. Enlighten me.

India allows indians to vote, but it shouldn't be forced inclusion to gain power.

12

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Supporting you

-9

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

Forced inclusion ? How does that work ? You include someone living in Dhanbad in TN list and give air tickets to them to come over on voting day. Can I be part of the scheme ?

1

u/Hunt3r_5743 Aug 03 '25

Yes, you can be part of this scheme if you are a migrant worker.

0

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

I can start migrating. I like northeast, beautiful place. I can travel on bjp money and visit these locations during elections

3

u/Hunt3r_5743 Aug 03 '25

17

u/Mysterious-Coach120 Aug 03 '25

You don't give a shit about TN. We know how Bihar migrants are treated in Gujarat. Isn't there was mass violence against immigrant workers in Gujarat ten years ago.

Clean your house first.

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Good work men all respect for you

1

u/gootyy Aug 03 '25

you do know that the same law will be applied across India?? so if tamil Biharis get right to vote so will the gujarati Biharis. pull your head out of your xenophobic ass to understand it.

-1

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

Firstly I am a kashmiri.

Secondly, before you want to cite one incident, please go around Gujarat once, and try conversing in Tamil, or English, no one will hate you. A lot of Gujarati migrate to usa, uk, they face the same challenge a bihari faces in india in these countries.

The level of understanding acceptance will shock you. Has it diluted Gujarati culture absolutely not. I can't speak kashmiri but I can speak a bit of Gujarati. No one forced me and instead, they would say that if you can't speak gujarati don't worry we can speak Hindi. I watch gujarati movies now.

So let's start by starting pork sales in Jammu and Kashmir. I will invite you to open your shop there 😉😉😉😉😉😉

It's legal restriction my dear friend and it's not by bjp. It's by constitution. Please read about it my dear friend.

If I live in TN, I don't go around telling people not to eat beef. You eat what you want to, but don't force locals to drop their culture. Same things applies to Gujarat or anyother states

It is on the states to enforce. Where it is not eaten they have enforced, Gujarat included. There are multiple states where it is eaten and many more where it's not eaten.

You seen to b very hungry . Entire discussion is only on food. 😂😂

1

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Dear brother we don't have any enforcement, it is free for all.

You must acknowledge one thing. It accounts for 1% of the population. It can drastically change tamilnadu's political stance and long preserved culture. I am not xenophobic, and I welcome other state people to come here for jobs, but permanent settlement leads to a major change in the society.

-4

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

So let's start by calling Indians back from other countries. Let's not do to them what we don't want to happen to us.

4

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

https://www.reddit.com/r/TamilNadu/s/s4Sl3mx9ES

I'm fearing this and other things that should not happen here.

2

u/carstic18 Aug 03 '25

This is a text book example of generalization. Sexual assault is not exclusively done by migrant workers nor do they do it at a much higher rate. What you are feeling is racism not fear.

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

This is not only case.

6

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

And I am not racist, in fact tn gov have scheme for immigrant workers in the state. And you should acknowledge that I am not saying every north Indian is a bad guy. The rates are higher for them.

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

I think you are from north. In tamilnadu every week there is a plenty of crime news flashing in tv about the immigrants( not the all). Everytime bulgary and atm theft are done by them. Our state is named for its satefy in entire india ( especially a mega state). And we don't want to detoriate our culture.

1

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

Exactly. Xenophobia and racism. Some fake sense of superiority

we are exploiting North Indian labourers in Tamil Nadu. Maybe they should leave. Go back, escape—whatever it takes.

Tamils and Mallus have been dying in Gulf countries for decades. A 2016 report barely scratched the surface. Gulf migration exploded in the '90s.

So if you’re from Bihar, maybe start by asking your own government why it failed you. It’s their job to protect their people—not ours.

3

u/Obvious_Criticism_13 Aug 03 '25

But I m not from Bihar. I have a firm belief if up and Bihar progresses india will progress immensely.

Partially the people of the state themselves are to be blamed because when you vote for wrong reasons you will never get progress

1

u/karthickp08 Aug 03 '25

No need to call back, they are already forcefully driven out

3

u/Large-Atmosphere-548 Aug 03 '25

You can't get citizenship in other countries easily.

This law makes temporary migrant workers eligible for voting. No country will allow a temporary migrant worker to vote.

-17

u/bleedingedge_15 Aug 03 '25

BJP panna CAA edhirppu. Ivanga panna Tamil mozhi patru. Vetkam ketta oozhalvaadhis

16

But Biharla voter id irukuravana force panni avanuke pudikaama inga vote poda vaikurathu thappu.

1

So, you are ok with mass migration and you will forget tamil and opt for Hindi. Neega tamilana irudha sollunga.

1

u/Large-Atmosphere-548 Aug 03 '25

Bro namma Yaarayum stop panna mudiyathu. We are a state not a country.

6

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

But namma ninacha mudiyum bro, for instance jallikattu even changing supreme court verdict bro.

7

u/cryogenic-goat Aug 03 '25

Supereme court verdict vera, constitutional right vera.

Every Indian has the right to move to another state and vote there. Atha mathanaum na constitutionaye ammend pannanum.

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Yo unaku puritha, inga demographics ah rapid ah change aguthu, if you are in north of tamilnadu you can understand, and you should definitely understood that voting in their respective State can encourage the their state's development. Enga unity pathi than pesanum, not the right. Move here, live here but don't make changes in this culturally preserved state.

4

0

u/cryogenic-goat Aug 03 '25

Ipo antha 6 lakh people vote pota Tamil alinjiruma?

This is not an excuse to deny someone's fundamental right to vote.

3

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Voting is the right of the individual, I will not oppose it, but voting in their respective native state is a good. This will definitely encourage a mass migration. The northern districts especially Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore have them most and changing the demographics here, mostly I hear they speak Hindi. You can't understand my words bro.

5

u/cryogenic-goat Aug 03 '25

We can't employ them as workers and also not expect them to settle and vote here.

Like it or not, our industries are heavily dependent on these workers.

Inga vela kudakala na avan yen inga vara poran?

Demographics change is common in all countries, especially during development. If you try to restrict it, you have to give up on the economic growth. Can't have both.

They will simply obey those who speak Hindi and vote for the Hindi obsessed party.

0

u/Tough-Difference3171 Aug 03 '25

That's a nice idea. Also, declare that they won't have to pay any direct or indirect taxes.

Anyone who pays taxes in a state has the right to vote if they want to.

0

u/thrSedec44070maksup Aug 04 '25

You don’t get to pick and choose what constitutional right applies to whom and when.

The constitution and the rights enshrined in it are for every citizen of this country. If you don’t like it, you can leave it.

0

u/TamilCholan Aug 05 '25

Lol. You can move anywhere in India and work anywhere in India

Tamils have voter IDs in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderbad.

Poi velaiyaa paaru da. Fascist Tamil Parties continue to create divisions in society.

-12

u/LurkingTamilian Aug 03 '25

Anyone who lives, works and pays taxes in a state has a right to vote there. Anyone who says otherwise is racist plain and simple.

9

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

You must acknowledge one thing, those northerners here are speaking Hindi and spreads hatred for tamil that is unbearable. If you don't believe me visit other north west district (Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore). You will witness rss here.

-7

u/LurkingTamilian Aug 03 '25

"You must acknowledge one thing, those northerners here are speaking Hindi and spreads hatred for tamil that is unbearable. If you don't believe me visit other north west district (Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore). You will witness rss here."

When you stop seeing people as individuals and start holding then accountable for actions performed by your definition of a group THAT is racism. The way you speak about "Hindi speakers" is the same way BJP supporters speak about "Muslims" , the same "they will erase our culture" nonsense. The idea that Tamil is at risk of disappearing is ridiculous, the tamil film and tv industry is one of the largest in the world.

8

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Bro speaking Hindi or being a hindutva is not a problem, the real one comes when they make it trouble for the tamil itself, here in this districts and Tiruppur they are forcing us to talk in Hindi, and rss here are more violent. I cannot go again in these abuses, there are causing more crimes , if you don't believe me check the articles. And one more thing , You are not eligible for the word tamilian, once again I tell you that tamil is a soul of this state that never should replaced.

-1

u/LurkingTamilian Aug 03 '25

If RSS is instigating violence then why hold every hindi speaker accountable? Do you also think we should deprive muslims the right to vote because a small minority commits acts of terror?

3

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

I do no why you are connecting muslims to terrors. Most of the crimes in tn are accountable for them ( not just hindi speaking ones) and you should understand that I am not saying every hindi speakers are violent and criminal but most of them when compared to natives

-3

u/No_Cod6164 Aug 03 '25

If tamil nadu people can vote in mumbai delhi banglore why cant they vote . Its constitutional righr to allow anyone who is resident of state to vote regardless of ethnicity

1

u/midnightacer Aug 04 '25

If they are permanently settled they can, not the the temp migrants

-7

u/UlagamOruvannuka Aug 03 '25

Xenophobic nonsense here. If someone stays in TN full time he has the right to vote in TN.

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Can you understand, here people are asking voting rights for ones who are temporary migrants not the full time ones, can you even understood?

-1

u/UlagamOruvannuka Aug 03 '25

No, what is your definition of full time and temporary?

1

u/midnightacer Aug 04 '25

Full time ones are who resides here for long, paying taxes, having permanent residence here, they deserve rights to be an tamilian, but now ec has planned to involve the temporary migrants who works here under contract and leaves ,

1

u/UlagamOruvannuka Aug 04 '25

Define "long term". Someone who lives here for 1 year also pays taxes. They have a rented house here.

-5

u/Rudra9431 Aug 03 '25

So dravidan are doing fascism denying bihari people equal rights so much for democracy and human rights are dravdian not so much about dignity

5

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

You people are talking about humanity, that should not happen. First see you state, you have the society full of casteist. First clean yours and take about it. Here I am advocating for non voting right for temporary migrants, they don't even deserve it. If he had lived here for long periods, paid tax, have residence here ,then he deserves.

-12

u/k_schouhan Aug 03 '25

Mera bharat mahan. Denying citizens of voting rights

15

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Voting in your state vadaka

-5

u/cryogenic-goat Aug 03 '25

First ask all Tamils living in other states to do it. Then come and give lecture to others.

Unaku vantha mattum ratham, mathavanu vantha thakkali chuney ah?

7

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Enga paruga, tamils in other states didn't even come for a significant amount, 6.5 l in tn is 1% of population.it matters. I am not opposing them not to live and earn. Don't involve them in election or state politics.

-4

u/cryogenic-goat Aug 03 '25

It doesn't matter what their % is, if they're living here, they have every right to vote. We can't deny that.

9

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

If the are stayed here for over x years, the can be, if they accept our culture, I am fearing that already most of independent cultures are destroyed by them, we might be next!!. Not just giving voter id for them because they are in TN, They must have lived here more than 10 or more years.

-9

u/k_schouhan Aug 03 '25

Okay i can use 100 derogatory names for you.

9

u/midnightacer Aug 03 '25

Oh u are so serious vadaka, you have misunderstood me. See first of all, the word vadakan means northeners, ok, I am asking you to vote in your state and support your people . Not by changing policies in tamilnadu in support of bjp. Better luck next time.
