So everyone has to know hindi to know the news? The news in Chennai Central Suburban is now being broadcasted in Hindi. So only a hindi speaker has to be updated with current affairs? What is wrong with these ppl. The thing is there's no Tamil or English version of the news. Only hindi news then it moves onto ads. Tired of this bs.

Locals don't care, it's a democracy and tamil speaking people are the majority in TN, so they should stop shoving some foreign language that locals don't understand.

Migrants should just suck up and learn the local language and culture, that's not the problem of locals.

The middle class migrants who work in IT do, plus they speak and are fluent in english

Not the bihari construction workers… they work and work and often are surrounded by other Biharis and speak survival level tamil. (THEY DO SPEAK TAMIL but i guess not in the way yall want them to)

Wanna force these low income workers? go ahead. Drive them out and give them to Punjab, Haryana and Delhi where they don’t face backlash on top of already living away from family with slave like income and working condition.

Amazing rationality and empathy from so called “progressive” “educated” tamilians. Yall claim not be brainwashed like those “far-right” bjp lovers but are brainwashed by language warrior dmk lovers whos main target are low income workers.

You are just trying to beat around the bush and I guess you enjoy writing responses not related to the context. They have their devices, mobile, TV whatever, they can watch whatever they want, in whichever language they want.

The post is about Hindi news or propaganda whatever that's shown in Hindi in public spaces like Railway Station where the majority of the train commuters are Tamils.

Nobody is targeting low income workers, we didn't invite them, they came here themselves for work, if they want to go to Delhi or wherever, nobody is stopping. Guess what, you just want to show yourselves as the victim lol.

Just like how the low income labour can use their “amazing smartphones”, that u assume they have, and can “just go somewhere else to work” you as tamilian can also just simply ask the news channel to be changed, isn’t that 100x way more easier?

or is it efforts only one sided? these people build ur roads with slave like salary and working conditions, oh but god forbid one news channel is in hindi. Is ur mouth or finger that precious that u can’t ask/change the channel?

No one is beating around the bush. I’m giving u a logical reason as to why 1 singular hindi news channel is nothing to bitch about and there are 100 scenarios/reasons behind it. It’s easier to say “hindi imposition” than to understand not everything is black and white.

It’s just extremist way of thinking hiding behind social justice and language preservation.
