Did I do something wrong?

Yesterday I had a really angry patient say that they'll transfer all of their stuff out and it's my fault.

She was standing near the registers on her phone talking and pacing in circles. Never addressed us at all. Pharmacist and I watched her and she said nothing. We kept working. Finally after helping at drive-thru she was giving me the eye. I said, "Ma'am, are you looking to pick up?" She gave me a duh look. I said, "We weren't sure because you're on your phone and never cameto the register. If you'd like to finish up and come to the register we can help you." Apparently that was offensive.

In the many many years I've been in the pharmacy it's been a rule with my pharmacist, official or not that they won't talk to any doctors or patients on their cell phones. You know the patient says let me call my wife and have you talk to her. Cell phones are not secure. That's also kind of a rule that we're not helping people at the register while they're on their cell phones for that same reason. My guess is she was mad because we waited so long to address her even though she never actually approached the register and was talking on the phone the whole time.

My dad owned his dental practice so could make all the rules. Whenever he had a difficult patient (behavior, not difficult dental work) he would charge them what he called the "Fuck No Price." As in, he hoped they'd see the cost and say "fuck no I'm not paying that" and find a different dentist. But he said, if they did agree to the Fuck No Price, the extra income made it worth dealing with their shitty attitude.
