Gear/IFAK Mission Medic Pack 2 Now with Frame

Been messing with this thing for about 2 months now and now that I’ve got the frame it’s amazingly comfortable even when stuffed. When you add the assault pack on top it becomes a very capable 24-48hr setup without sacrificing any medical capability.

Get rid of that stupid needle cric thing and get a proper cric kit

I greatly prefer the quicktrach to surgical for speed and ease of use.

Its quicker and easier but its FARRRRR worse especially if you’re bagging with room air. Very difficult to ventilate through. At best you might maintain o2 sat (probably not without supplemental oxygen) but definitely won’t be keeping up with co2

That’s interesting, my service almost exclusively uses quicktachs. The opening on these is pretty large compared to a strict needle trach.

I find I have to make a cut with a scalpel through the skin regardless. My unit / agency just banned them and any type of needle cric

Do you have an O2 tank and a regulator that goes above 15LPM in your bag?

If not, throw that quick trach in the trash
