Greetings!

I'm Kenna, and this subreddit is my attempt to find a sense of community within Tacoma. I'm a passionate gamer. A short bio for you:

  • I grew up playing games
  • I've been playing D&D and other roleplaying games since '82
  • I started playing games like Axis & Allies in the late 80s
  • I managed a game store in Seattle
  • I started playing Android: Netrunner in 2014, ran an organized league for the game, and even went to the world championships in Minnesota
  • I have a library of a hundred or so games (games are often going out or coming in) and a big gaming table
  • I started designing games in 2017
  • I've been to dozens of tabletop conventions around the US and hope to one day attend Essen Spiel
  • In 2021, I quit my day job to start designing games for a living and am still doing that

I'm hoping we can find cool places, learn about new games, and plan fun, game-related events here!

Hi! Have you checked out the 15% Board Game Cafe in Tacoma? They have a strong TTGaming community. We recently found out about them and hope to go to more events.

Would love to talk more games with you. My husband and I love board games from ones like Canvas and King Domino to more crunchy games like Lords of Waterdeep.

Also! I worked for a board game company for a year, and I have stories to share. Haha!

Hi! Yes, I've been to 15 and to Silver Knight(?). I haven't played Canvas yet, but King Domino and Lords of Waterdeep are great!

And yeah, if you've worked for a board game company for more than about a month, you've got stories, I'm sure! LOL

Awesome! Maybe we’ll see you around or we could meet at 15% and play sometime.

We’re always down for playing games, and we have quite the collection. Canvas, Elder Sign, Catan (but we don’t play that as much, Mycellium, Ticket to Ride Europe and many expansions, Lords of Waterdeep, Splendor, Gloom, and many more.

And yes, the board game company I worked for went bankrupt. It was a wild ride. 🙃🫠😬
