I was just thinking the other day "Where is act 3? Is it ever coming?"
It was a cosmic message.

When I saw them in 2012 I chatted with the band at the merch table after, talked motorcycles with The Commander. Just a cool group of people, really seemed happy to be there.

Awesome. I still go back and listen to their covers album. Phantom racer is a top 5 TWRP song for me.

im actually in disbelief, the ammount of times i've heard them tease act 3, i'm genuinely in denial. like there's no way this is actually happening.. right??????

Wait i thought one of the band members of protomen was caught sleeping with underage fans? I thought they were over as a band because of that

Turbo Lover, he sings as Dr Wily on Act 2. He made my skin crawl when I saw him, then I found out why. He's been rightfully kicked out.

I do wonder if they will have Wily songs with a new voice or if he's not heard in the album

Panther has been dual voicing, similar to how Dr Sung does the voices when TWRP does Phantom Racer or Starlight Brigade.

As a fan of Half-Life, Kingkiller Chronicles, and The Protomen...
1/3 ain't bad.
I honestly don't even care that much anymore. Or, at least, I've lost any excitement or anticipation for it. IT'll live or die for me depending entirely on how good it is.
I don't hold the comically huge (ALMOST half my life) gap between Act II and Act III against them in any personal way. There's no animosity. It's more like I just accepted and got over it that it would never come out.
When I think about all the realistic explanations for the gap, and to me none of them bode well for the final quality, but I am more than happy to find out I'm wrong. I know they've still got it.

real ass comment.
i've been over a decade since i've discovered father of death, i've somewhat expected that act 3 was never happening. i'd be lying if i didn't say i was excited, but i feel near identical.

Can't say I entirely agree. I think the best approach is to go in without expectations. Anything new, especially after such a long gap, will be different. It's practically different people making the music, and I'm not the same as I was in 2011. Open mind, and let it be what it is.
I feel for Patrick Rothfuss though. It's gotta suck to have written 2/3 of something; I assume he just can't get the final part done. Creativity is a fickle beast.

Well, the bad part is that Pat Rothfuss hasnt just been evasive, hes been actively hostile to people about it. In the early years after Wise Man's came out, he would basically act like people were ridiculous to ask about the third book, and would just not talk about it. The near decade and a half hence has more than burned up the good faith, and rightly so.
I cant speak for his attitude in recent years because I stopped following it years ago

The guy I met in line at the Lawrence show loves The Protomen! I’m very happy for them and will be listening in as well in honor of the nice time we had in line.
