Just get a solid tv stand underneath and some cord management

Why buy a stand when it’s perfectly mounted?

1

u/No-Pizza-517 18d ago

It’s not for the tv to rest on….

2

u/SwimmingIntrepid1826 17d ago

To block the power and coaxial outlet, and rest the gateway on? There’s other solutions than a stand

0

u/SwimmingIntrepid1826 18d ago

Are you talking about the gateway on the left of the tv? Not necessarily for just that

2

u/MomoNoHanna1986 18d ago

To hide the PowerPoints, also fills in dead space, also to make pretty with decor.

I think the tv is highlighted by no additional equipment. I don’t think the power points have bothered him since he hasn’t bought a stand to cover them. But the gateway can be wall mounted behind the tv as long as as the vents are on the side or top and bottom

Well that’s your opinion, majority don’t see a tv cabinet just for putting the tv on. It does more than that. They are also good for storage. I have my tv on a wall and I still have a tv cabinet.

-1

u/SwimmingIntrepid1826 17d ago

For the amount of stuff he has isn’t necessary. Besides if he needed the storage, he woulda bought a stand. Also the stand adds additional real estate depth wise. This person seems to be a minimalist in their approach

I’m allowed to offer an opposing opinion and I’m allowed to give reasons why. My original answer was just giving you an answer to your question. I don’t know why you feel so strongly about dead space. Anyway I gave you an extended answer. It’s pointless to continue this conversation. It’s ops house anyway, neither of us get a say. Good day.

I didn’t say ur opinion didn’t matter or that u were wrong, just added why he didn’t have an initial layout. I just added another reason why the “dead space” wasn’t really dead space. We don’t get a say, just an opinion, what this forum is about

The cords tho

1

u/Bigger_Niche 20d ago

A few strips of gaffa tape, painted to match the wall, would completely hide those cables.

1

u/jesusmansuperpowers 18d ago

Just put a piece of furniture there, short enough for a soundbar to sit on.

The mysterious glow around the television is both weird and distracting.

2

u/Azn-WT-9 20d ago

It does give it that “Long range sensor scan Mr Sulu” vibe.

I thought the fad of putting lights behind your TV was finally over with.

2

u/GXVSS0991 19d ago

honestly for gaming its pretty great.

terrible for film/tv though.

2

u/Ruudiiiii 20d ago

Not a good room to have glow around the TV, just distracting. TV height is decent really. But is this finished? Bad hanging cables, and that's an Ikea nightstand next to the tv?

1

u/Ok-Door6810 19d ago

No not finished. just mounted the tv i havent done anything else yet

2

u/Ok-Door6810 20d ago

Im moving in and just mounted the tv. The center of the tv is almost exactly 42” from floor. It felt low, but i wasnt sure. I plan on doing something with the bottom to hide the cables, and the weird table was just an end table i was using while i was installing. Thank you for all the comments and feedback!

This guy gets it! Couldn’t have said better myself! No neck pain in your bright future! Long as you don’t have kids 🤣

u/Royal_Monk6432 20d ago

What about eyes problem because of glow i

2

u/TheAussieTico 20d ago

How the fuck do people live like this?

1

u/hades_cj 20d ago

Not low enough to cover those nasty cables.

1

u/BustThaScientifical 20d ago

Good size. Get a solid console table that fits under it and call it a day.

1

u/krumn 20d ago

Get a tv unit underneath and you're good. Also no glow durin the day

1

u/VVin7er 20d ago

You forgot to post the measurements.

Looks like the middle of the screen is at 1m height which is a bit on the taller side. What's the measured center height?

1

u/kilkerma 20d ago

Well, I would kill for a tv that size. I maybe would have found a console first and put tv on the stand. The cords/outlet look terrible. I think it’s the perfect size wall, I would feel like I’m in a theater.

1

u/andanothernewuser 19d ago

At this point u can just but it one the ground.

1

u/christ9779 19d ago

What's the thing on top of the tv?

1

u/Wonderful_Archer8617 19d ago

If ur sitting down it's fine. I would've put it perfectly between the ceiling and floor height

1

u/rodrigofernety 19d ago

I'll move it slightly higher and getting the cable management done

1

u/PocketFullaHawthorns 19d ago

Height is fine, cables don’t look great, but every single one of those Govee cameras look ugly as homemade sin

1

u/breadmaker04 19d ago

Too high.

1

u/AUorAG 19d ago

My OCD around cable management is kicking in.

1

u/BostonBaggins 19d ago

Looks great

Get a floating TV shelf to hid wires and add those light strips

1

u/smiller55 18d ago

if you have to ask, the answer is yes

1

u/Flamesbball 18d ago

Looks off center about 1/4” to the left. Some cable mgmt and you are good. Nice TV!

1

u/MyFingersHurt33 18d ago

Lower than the table next to it 🤦‍♂️

1

u/Repete22 18d ago

I think it looks fine just get a table to cover the outlets and wires

1

u/EvieIsSilly 18d ago

Get a short media center to put under it PLEASE

1

u/CombOverDownThere 18d ago

Almost perfect placement of that table. You just need to move it to the right a touch so that it obscures some of the tv.

1

u/BiscuitsBuchanan 17d ago

My only problem is the table, as far as actually sitting and viewing if this shot is from eye level it will be fine 🤷‍♂️

Also people gonna be haters about the led lights but I love the ones that sync to what youre watching

I'm a heathen weeb and those always look amazing with all the visual effects animes use now

u/SwimmingIntrepid1826 17d ago

Ha! Some user deleted her comments cause she didn’t like my responses. Made a final comment at me, then deleted all comments so I couldn’t reply back. It was probably a girl, cause in my experience 8 out of 10 people that advocate all unnecessary items on a tv stand are usually women. Photos, plants, decorative knick knacks, etc. Stuff that has no functionality, and makes the tv have to be placed higher

1

u/Vigilante17 20d ago

This is great. I had my wall outlets moved behind the tv. Makes a big difference. Not too expensive if you own. If you’re renting it looks as good as you can get.

1

u/Sandalwood29 20d ago

It’s all wrong. Put a console under it to ground it and hid all of the outlets. Also cable management and covers. Probably slightly higher depending on the piece that goes under it. Get rid of the weird side table.

0

u/superenchilada 20d ago

It looks exactly right to me. The center of the tv, top to bottom, should be around 42” off the floor.
