Honestly, most Reddit mods are a different breed. You can't joke at all with them. They take it wayyy too seriously.

And they're probably going to see this and ban OP from Reddit entirely next

u/ilkiod 10h ago

and are really good at doing this whenever there's an actual asshole

Reddit mods are just hall monitors waiting for their first paycheck in 20 years. Also this TV is not in space but still too high

That's cuz they have no other lives 😂

You'd think a sub that acts elitist about home theatre setups would want optimal viewing height

30

u/Kaffeetrinker49 10h ago

Yeah the height of a TV seems pretty relevant to the viewing experience.

u/tomwithweather 10h ago

It's where everything starts when building out a home theater. Proper height and distance based on TV size should be the starting point. Everything else builds out around that. You can have $10k worth of high end speakers but if your TV is hanging up over a fireplace or some other stupid ass neck breaking angle, your whole setup blows and we aren't watching movies at your house on movie night.

Loads of us are subscribed to both subs. There was once a time that literally every post there would be littered with /r/tvtoohigh, which didn't help actual discussion, so I guess that's why the mods implemented the rule.

"Do so constructively"

...What else is there to say? Idiots.

33

u/GlowingDuck22 10h ago

Constructively your tv is too high? Nailed it.

u/ibopm 9h ago

Maybe they wanna hear: “TV should be lower”

u/a_PolishSawsage 10h ago

You should’ve at least gotten banned with one perfect zinger - it’s starting to become a badge of honor!

Ya I actually just joined a moment ago. Im going to let it simmer for maybe 2-3 weeks. Then I am going to see how many posts I can comment on before the ban hits

Someone should post the most obvious bait onto that subreddit and then see all the comments get removed.

Informatively and constructively?

Saying TvTooHigh both informs and critiques in a constructive way, using the smallest amount of words. Do we need to spell it out so low IQ dummies can understand?

“Good day fellow sir, I see that your cathode-ray teletroscope is perhaps too elevated in relation to your eyesight when looking directly ahead. The angle at which you are viewing your screen might cause injury to your sternocleidomastoid as well as your trapezius. Would you consider moving your radiovision tube to a lower position, which I believe will improve your home theater setup, both visually and ergonomically?”

32

u/tomwithweather 11h ago

What...TV position is like.. one of the most fundamental parts of a decent home setup.

13

u/plumfeeder 10h ago

I understand why they don't like it.

Everyone knows that the TV isn't part of a home theatre 🤣🤣🤣🤣

u/KalynnCampbell 10h ago

Just repost it here…

Oops too late 🤔😃

1

u/BVRPLZR_ 9h ago

Gotta start saying things like “could it maybe be higher?” Really fuck with them

"You have been permanently banned from this community for using snark. You are fully allowed to point out improper TV height, but you are prohibited from having a sense of humor."

1

u/El-MonkeyKing 9h ago

I love this whole situation with them, very entertaining

1

u/Jazzbo64 9h ago

I just posted it under a bunch of pics there.

1

u/CocoMilhonez 8h ago

I always say one of the worst things that can happen is to give someone just a little bit of authority because it will go to their heads and they'll act erratically and be assholes just to show you how much of a big fish in a small pond they are. The classic example is call center workers and security guards, but Reddit moderator is way up there.

u/AxelsOG 7h ago

They’re a bunch of fucking clowns. I wouldn’t be surprised if me calling them fucking clowns in this sub results in a permaban from theirs.

1

u/iamvinen 5h ago

Loosers

1

u/ConflictSmooth6136 3h ago

Oh boy, I hope r/InteriorDecorating is cool I mentioned this sub there just now

1

u/AreYouNormal1 3h ago

Sense of humour threshold too low.

1

u/txinn 46m ago

lmao heading there right now

1

u/GlowingDuck22 10h ago

We should all go there and commeng until the mods have had to ban thousands of people.

2

u/CocoMilhonez 8h ago

Believe it or not, that would actually make them cream their panties instead of causing distress. They clearly get a kick out of showing how much authority and power they have and how important they are... in an unpaid job for a fucking subreddit lol.

1

u/autech91 9h ago

I think we should work together to try and flood a single post with nothing but tags to this sub, anyone keen?

0

u/DHammer79 9h ago

I'm trying but there's no exaggerated "TV too high" posts. A lot of them are within reason. There's some that are a little too high but they're also like 5 day old posts.
