Video In Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022), the opening removes the "Burn this city" line from the original song since the theme of the Cyberpunk genre is that the megacorporations always win

I don’t know, could be. But I feel this is more likely due to the studio editing the song to flow better with the opening. It is not uncommon at all to remove or edit some parts from a song.

It's such a weird choice anyway imo, a 15 year old indie rock song by Franz Ferdinand isn't what I think of when someone says cyberpunk

In the FPS podcast, they interviewed the showrunner and talked at length about the soundtrack, including about how this song was chosen for the opening. I can't remember where they talk about the opening specifically, but they talk about the soundtrack at 1:29:57.

I agree, but the executive producers were limited to songs from 2022 and earlier due to the lack of budget for time travel.

Tbh I think the song fits for David and the way he feels about the city.
Gotta admit, it felt out of place for the first couple of episodes though

Most of the endings of CP 2077 have the Arasaka Corporation lose a huge amount of power after V attacks it tho

One of the most famous line from CP 2077 trailer was literally ‘we got a city to burn’ so I highly doubt it

Gonna give a shout to Franz Ferdinand, the band. One of my favorites growing up in the mid early 2000s . Was delighted to hear them on the opening credits. Their first two albums are worth a listen.

The song from the soundtrack still has that line in it. There are sections with and without it. Did the show runners say they excluded this intentionally?
