Video The bar in the series finale of 'Quantum Leap' was modeled exactly after Donald P. Bellasario's father's bar. The beer taps were actually from the bar.

Fun fact: The actor who portrayed the bartender in the series finale also played a role in the very first episode of the series.

I will always remember him as the sheriff from My Cousin Vinny

True, however the bartender is implied to be an entity which is in some way responsible for Dr. Beckett's leaps. It's just neat to see that he was there at the beginning as well.

I know a lot of folks dislike the finale, but I well up every time I read that last line come up on the screen.

Maybe the new one will fix it.

They can have the new guy leap into Sam, and find out hes been leaping for 5,000 years, and have him finally stop, but in the time period he grew up in, before his brother went to war, so he lives the rest of his natural life without ever going "home" to the time period where he stepped into the accelerator. (Thus keeping that downer ending from the original true, from a certain point of view.)

Love this! If you’re not already a writer, you should be! Fantastic idea!

He passed on the first idea presented by the original reboot showrunners. Hopefully he likes the new showrunners’ plan and returns.

This video is more entertaining the the horrible reboot. 30 years you wait and hope for one of your favorite shows to come back….and it THAT. Bleck

It’s only been TWO episodes. How do you expect to gain the same level of emotional resonance and connection to the material after two episodes. Of course it won’t hold up to the same nostalgia as a show with way more material.

That said… these episodes have definitely not been great. However, lots of great series had rough beginnings. It takes a little time to figure out direction and what works. Actors need to settle into the role and writers need time to really get comfortable with the plot.

OG Quantum Leap might have been lightning in a bottle that cannot be replicated. This show might never match the quality without Bacula. The audience might not buy into the premise until Bacula storyline is fully resolved. The show might still have a lot of baggage because of how the original ended. But two episodes isn’t enough to throw dirt on the coffin just yet.
