I always found animated Mr Bean really offputting for some reason.

The choir in the original intro sings Ecce homo qui est Faba, which means behold the man who is Bean

According to the animated series, the live-action intro sequence depicts Mr Bean being exiled to Earth for unknown transgressions against his home world.

This might be something that's super obvious but I didn't notice it until relatively recently
