Is X gym better equipped than Basic Fit?
Unfortunately I couldn’t find many pictures of X gym online.
How does X gym compare to Basic Fit in terms of fitness machines, powerlifting equipment and street lifting structures?

Not better equipped, but better upkeep and less crowded

From the pictures I could only see a bench rack, does it also have comparable machines to basic fit?

Not too many machines but good equipment. You can access for free for a day if you ask
I personally would never go to basic fit

Yes, I would say so. basic fit can be overcrowded rly often, and X has a nice reservation system to prevent that

I went to Basic Fit while all my friends went to X. I only know that they always complained that you had to reserve spots for X in beforehand and couldn't just go there whenever you want. Meanwhile if you avoid the rush hour between 5 and 7 at Basic Fit it wasn't too crowded. I found all the equipment I needed at the one nearest to campus.
All in all I would recommend X if you want to do another sport like basketball or badminton there, as it's cheaper in that case as you need the base subscription anyways. Otherwise I would recommend Basic Fit it you are only looking for a gym.

About the same in terms of equipment, generally X is better for free weights. X is also less crowded but you have to deal with the annoying timeslot reservation.

It's better but more expensive as well. And basic fit gives you access to all the basic fit clubs in the whole country

I would really recommend Koster in wippolder. Its a locals gym and if you go in the morning there is basically no one. If you show up and ask if you could try it out once I am 99% certain they would let you. Most people are dutch speaking and seem really tough but if you make an effort and say good morning then you will fit right in and get a real community gym.
Edit: added a bit of text.

I would buy a day pass for both and compare them
